SUPERGIRL Comes Home In An Early Preview For The Midseason Premiere; "Welcome Back, Kara!"

Following the eventful midseason finale, Supergirl will be off until August, but when it returns, get ready for the final batch of episodes before we bid farewell to the Girl of Steel in November!

After a few episodes in the Phantom Zone, Kara (Melissa Benoist) has finally made her way home - with her father Zor-El (Jason Behr) in tow - and it looks like the August midseason premiere will see him try to acclimate himself into Kara's life in National City, which looks to be easier said than done.

As mentioned above, Supergirl will be off until August 24, but when it does return, expect the final run of twelve episodes to air uninterrupted through the Fall, until the highly anticipated series finale, which is tentatively scheduled for November 16. However, whether that last episode will be an extended installment or not remains to be seen.

No word on what to expect from the latter half of the season just yet, but a few plot points to look forward to are the return of John Diggle (David Ramsey) in episode twelve, Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) taking on her brother's Guardian mantle, a pair of dangerous new Big Bads, the return of Mxyzptlk (Thomas Lennon), and, of course, the return of Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer)!

Check out the promo for season six, episode eight; "Welcome Back, Kara!" below:

"Welcome Back, Kara!" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

TBD. Original airdate 8/24/2021

Just glad she's finally back. I understand Benoist took time off for maternity leave, but this show just didn't click without her interacting with the core cast imo.

@ModHaterSLADE - I’m really glad Melissa is back full time now. Was fantastic seeing Kara/Alex hug together because they are the heart of the series. I’m excited to see all of S6.

Hope Tyler shows up before the end, at least for the final episode

@kingpatel - I genuinely love that you regularly cover the CWverse trailers.

I know I don't usually comment on them because I'm not currently caught up, but having a nice spot to discuss it is fantastic.

These are smaller things that can get looked over or lost in a sea of articles so your timing on posting these has always been perfect in my eyes.

It's admirable that you're so steady at doing it, huge props brother, and keep it up!

Really think this half would have been better if they went a more World Without Supergirl route.

Have the team try to fill the void, while they believe Kara is dead (not knowing she was sent to the zone) and have her escape the zone on her own while the team deals with some threat

I'm actually surprised that Melissa was able to do as much as she did since the separation from the main group was mainly dictated by her pregnancy. All things considered I give the series a break since I understand the conditions they were working under and around.

As for the other CW Arrowverse series, I'm usually alone in my assessment of them. I think a lot more of this season's Batwoman than most apparently do and believe it is a vast improvement over the initial season, especially story-wise and with the introduction of more interesting characters. Not sure the new Kate Kane can out act Jessica or others and be the new Batwoman as I haven't seen enough of her work on this show to make that call, but we will see. Not the greatest show I'll concede but better than most make it out to be at least to me.

The Flash has been a bit better than OK but not back to its glory days. The upcoming permanent loss of the Cisco and Harrison Welles characters will be a very big blow.

Almost everyone on these threads seem to be enamored of the new Superman and Lois series. I guess I can't appreciate its greatness as others have but I do watch and like it enough to keep watching. My main hang up, I just can't stand the angsty teens, and I know you have to expect that with the CW, but still.

Black Lightning is ok. Found I like the PainKiller character a lot more than I thought I would. Actually think that backdoor pilot they had was more than decent. And although I hate to see the series come to an end, I really won't miss it either.

As for The Legends, they are just as crazy as ever in the best way and they can just stay as they are. No problem with them at all.

Regardless I will continue to watch all the Arrowverse shows through the good and bad. Which considering I'm admittedly Marvel-biased, is saying a lot.
