SUPERGIRL Executive Producer Addresses "Gotham" Reference: Will BATMAN Ever Appear?

The Dark Knight's home city was cleverly name dropped in last week's Supergirl trailer - could an appearance from Batman be on the cards? Supergirl EP Allison Adler has weighed in...

Last week's trailer for Supergirl season 2 caught the attention of many fans with the casual line, "We're moving back to Gotham." While obviously meant as a small tease to the wider universe now that Superman has made his debut on the network, fans couldn't help but wonder if we could see Batman down the line as well. TV Line caught up with executive producer Allison Adler to ask if there were any new plans on bringing the Dark Knight to the show.

“I feel like we have our hands full with the crossover we’re shooting right now,” Adler said, referring to the four show event happening later this fall (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow). “I think people will be satisfied with how much crossover they’re getting this season. We have this beautiful history with DC, and I like that we get to borrow from this amazing, wonderful canon that we have.”

Looks like the answer is still 'no' for now, but if Superman's inclusion this season is anything to go by, it doesn't look like anything is off the table when it comes to DC's television programs! Do you want to see a version of Batman on the CW? Sound off below!

Barbara Gordon should totally appear in the series.

@tb86 - That's an awesome idea.

@tb86 - They will never let them use Batman, but I would just be happy if they mentioned him. Even simply showing him from a distance in the shadows in an ep where they introduce Batgirl would be cool.

@tb86 - I agree, but I would just as soon not have Batman appear, since they would probably not get him right. I am truly surprised they have Superman, although it is a more natural fit to include him. I'm just surprised DC and the DCEU allowed Kal-El.

Just found out that CW shows are no longer available on HULU the day after airing due to their new deal with Netflix. Now they'll air 8 days after the season finale on Netflix. I would've watched them if they did the next day showing on HULU, but since they're not, I'm not really that heartbroken. I'll just wait till the seasons over to maybe watch, since I have both Netflix and HULU. Netflix originals have already dulled my desire to watch network shows because of the giant gap in quality between them. The Flash is probably the best CW CBTV show, and compared to the worst Netflix original I've watched it's pretty meh, IMO. I wonder how this will affect the viewing numbers, if at all. Sadly I don't feel the need to watch any of the CW shows, and there was a time when I lived for Arrow.

@SuperbatSpider1003 - The thought crossed my mind, but I'm just not as bothered by not being able to watch them right away as I thought I would. I'll just either binge watch after the season or catch an episode here or there when they finally hit Netflix. It actually might be nice to have something to watch during the summer months since all the sports I watch will be over by then.

Still haven't watched this show. Is it any good? Judging from the trailers, it looks like this season may be better than the first.

@SuperCat -it's like almost every first season;little messy and corny but some characters and moments go above that. If you like these characters it shouldn't stop you from seeing it

@sixthsense - Thanks! Been meaning to catch up on the show. Other than the clips I've seen with Martian Manhunter, nothing from the first season made me want to tune in. But I like what I've seen so far of Superman.
