SUPERGIRL: Kara Meets The Worldkiller In The New Promo For Season 3, Episode 9: "Reign"

After finishing off her Earth-X doppelgänger tonight, next week's episode of Supergirl will see Kara (Melissa Benoist) head back to her own Earth where she'll find herself in hot pursuit of her deadliest adversary yet: Reign (Odette Annable).

Based on the new trailer, it looks like the recently awakened villain will be making her presence known early on in the hour by leading Kara on a wild goose chase around National City before finally coming face-to-face with the Kryptonian. Meanwhile, on the human side of things, Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) will once again find herself at odds with Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar) and will look to Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) for help and protection, which may or may not lead to an unexpected connection.

Watch the new promo for episode nine, titled "Reign," below:

"Reign" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

REIGN CHALLENGES SUPERGIRL - Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) investigates a mysterious symbol popping up all over National City, tracing its origins back to an ancient prophecy and the mark of the World Killer, Reign (Odetee Annable). Meanwhile, the tension between Lena (Katie McGrath) and Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) continues to build, causing James to step in and offer up some protection, and possibly igniting a spark in the process. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish (#309). Original airdate 12/4/17.

As Superman’s cousin, Kara Danvers (aka Supergirl) balances her work as a reporter for CatCo Worldwide Media with her work for the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), a super-secret government organization whose mission is to keep National City – and the Earth – safe from sinister threats. At the DEO, Kara works for J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, and alongside her sister, Alex, and best friend, Winn Schott. Also in Kara’s life are James Olsen, a photo journalist who moonlights as Guardian, a masked vigilante, Lena Luthor, and Mon-El of Daxam, whose planet was ravaged by Krypton’s destruction. In season three, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.

It's about to go down big time it seems. Could be the show's best mid-Season finale after S1's which was a fave of mine with Kara and Non charging against each other.

The costume of Reign will be better judged too now.

@NinnesMBC - just watched crisis on earth x part one and it was waaaaay better than justice league.

@RocknRolla - I liked JL, it's not on Wonder Woman's level but they told a simple and eve self-contained story that served it's purpose and they did not try to emulate Avengers nor even Guardians movies things. Their weak spot lies on how they introduced 3 new characters and getting them to be known to the audeince and a bit developed which is the issue and why DC TV crossovers work better, these ones already have it and we are familiarized with them so it's easier.

So far so good, agree.

@NinnesMBC - fair enough, the continuity errors bugged me too and dummy goofy flash

This show has gone from a superhero show to a PC soap opera and I have really lost interest in watching it. Too bad because I did like it but not anymore.

Is this show still hae a SJW, Left-pushing agenda? Just wondering if it's worth watching again. Season One was fantastic.

What the television series needs is to introduce Steel and give that "the guardian jimmy olsen" a break.

What a great time for all comic book fans.

We Marvel fans get the Infinity War trailer revealed as being released tomorrow.

And the DC fans get the reveal of Reign in episode 9 series 3 of CW's Supergirl.

Truly a glorious day for us all.

talked to my friend about justice league today... and all either of us could remember was superman looking at flash, and the GL. I mean, we were kind of drunk, so I don't know if the movie was just generally forgettable, or if those moments just stood out, or both.

@BloodyBed - Went completely sober the day it came out, those two of the only things I remember as well. Mainly the whole Superman resurrection fight to be specific for me.

I was going to ask if this show was worth a watch. Good to hear a few of you suggest at least season 1 is worth a go.

DCUTV has been pretty good so far. I was able to stick around for Arrow until season 5. Still holding on to Flash. I just haven't had the time for Legends and I feel behind but I might be able to catch up on Supergirl if it's worth it.

Honestly, for me there was too much talking. I was expecting more action. And where is the other half of the Legends?
Gotta give me some Ray!
