Supergirl returns for its mid-season premiere on January 20th, and The CW has now released a full batch of promo stills to give us a better idea of what to expect from the show's first episode back.

In "Suspicious Minds," a frustrated Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) makes it her mission to discover The Girl of Steel's secret identity, and from the looks of things she's going to come pretty close to Kara's civilian life.

Check out the images down below, and let us know if you're looking forward to the return of Supergirl in the comments.

"Suspicious Minds" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

COLONEL HALEY IS DETERMINED TO FIND OUT SUPERGIRL'S IDENTITY - Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) is upset after Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) responds to a distress call from a Navy ship that turned out to be a deadly alien attack. Colonel Haley reclaims the site as DEO territory and demands that Supergirl step aside. After Supergirl refuses to be told what to do, Haley refocuses her energy on finding out Supergirl's true identity and begins to interrogate all DEO agents, including Alex (Chyler Leigh). Meanwhile, Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) tries to persuade Nia (Nicole Maines) to embrace her superpowers but she misinterprets his motives. Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Maria Maggenti & Gabriel Llanas (#410). Original air date 1/20/19.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor

Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer

The first half of this season has overall been the show's best, its been pretty strong and well done with some good writing at parts. And Agent Liberty is a great villain. The concepts they've explored this season surrounding the anti-alien movement has been handled very well. Here's to hoping that the rest of the season can keep up the momentum!

There has to be more than meets the eye with that hidden alien attack which might end up explaining why they appear trapped inside the DEO.

I wonder where J'onn and the rest are through this episode. Including Lockwood and Manchester Black unless they are sitting out from this episode.

Brainiac-5 is emotionally dense when it comes to Nia, wonder when he will start to catch up. But I can see him expecting too much from her just to match her descendant which could be an issue because he knows her from there.

I hope Red Daughter shows up soon.

@NinnesMBC - I wonder if Agent Liberty will team up with the Russians to have Red Daughter take Kara down.

I forget, but was there any explanation behind Red Daughter's existence?

@HeavyMetal4Life - Technically Red Daughter is also an alien so that would be a double standart from his end. Unless he continues to stick with just being Ben Lockwood and not Agent Liberty. Honestly I think he would just get behind Red Daughter's image and further use it to again drive home the point of how defenseless mankind is with now two Supergirls at large.

Red Daughter came to be when Kara traveled back in time with Mon-El's Legion ring to save him, Samantha and her mother from being killed by Reign and she needed to take Reign to the mind valley she used to be in because it was the only place that could hold her in and weaken her and for that she needed the Harun-El rock they brought from Argot that was used to split her and Samantha apart before.

But it was also when Kara was split too.

@NinnesMBC - I was thinking that Lockwood would fight fire with fire, essentially let the two aliens kill each other. But using Red Daughter's image to tarnish Supergirl's is a good idea.

Thanks for explaining, had forgotten all the details.
