Following a brief glimpse of Kara taking on Superman in the promo for next week's season 2 finale of Supergirl, The CW has released a full batch of promo stills which provide another look at the super-duo throwing hands.

It seems the Girl of Steel isn't quite a physical match for her mind-controlled cousin, but she will no doubt overcome the odds and move on to the main event: Rhea and her impending invasion of earth.

You can check out a new poster below, and the rest of the images HERE.

I laughed when the first promo shots of this version of Superman were shown, but after seeing him in action, he's probably the best live action interpretation (after Christopher Reeves) of the character we've had so far.

I hope Superman snaps Kara's neck.

This weeks episode was actually pretty decent. Hopefully this season's finale isn't as haphazard as season 1's. I know I'd be up for a third season.

@xAdam -
That was such an intense moment...
Something we never got in S2...smdh...

@Doomsday8888 - It was a goosebumps moment but when watching it I couldn't help but think it was really out-of-place and out-of-nowhere. The rage came from flashbacks to Krypton exploding and her losing her family but the villain (Red Tornado) and the episode had nothing to do with that.

@xAdam -
lol same! Red Tornado sucked ass, but that scene was really powerful!

How original. A mind-controlled Superman. I am so tired of this trope of either a mind-controlled or evil Superman. Not slamming the show. I have not seen enough of it to have a strong opinion, but I've had enough of this tired plot idea.

@RolandD - Supes hasn't been mind controlled in any mainstream media (talking movies and shows here). In the comics he may have been 'mind controlled' countless times but since the show draws inspiration from them you can't really blame them.

@xAdam - Really. Knightmare-Superman puts his fist through Batman's heart. One of the most popular DC video games with a sequel coming out is premised on a murderous, dictator Superman. Superman 3. Evil Superman fights good Clark Kent. I know these are not mind-controlled but the idea has been done to death, (sometimes literally of other characters-lol).

Hope they can light up a bit more the color of the posters for S3, but at least we get them compared to when it aired on CBS. Except the Flash/Supergirl crossover.

Looks like they recharge after the battle in the Fortress. The pic with Mon-El must be before the mortal kombat with Rhea.

Cat is back at CatCo. Hmm.

Anyway, this pic is GOAT.

@NinnesMBC - "Cat Grant is back at CatCo" well yeah, did you not watch the last episode?

@xAdam - Not in that way haha, I meant it as she is sitting in her office the very same one she left to Jimmy and looking like she's really back and not going away. Hard to see seeing how it appears she just returned for these 2 final episodes.

I thought her role would be still away from the office with the exception of yesterday.

Maybe she'll stay or not and will leave Jimmy there as she did. (Hoping so since he realized before the invasion kicked in that he can do good without the Guardian)

The last episode was pretty explicit about Daxamites being vulnerable to lead (bullets), and the Phantom Zone projector was a significant plot device. Mon El is will get lead poisoning and start a thousand year convalescence like his comicbook counterpart.
