SUPERGIRL: Teri Hatcher & Kevin Sorbo Debut As Rhea & Lar Gand In New Stills From Episode 16: "Star-Crossed"

This Monday, both Teri Hatcher & Kevin Sorbo are flying into National City and while, the CW has remained tightlipped about their roles, it looks like the most recent set of stills may have spilled the beans!

After the preview for next week's episode seemingly revealed that Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo had been cast as Mon-El's parents, and while that remains unconfirmed, it looks like the latest batch of stills may have revealed their identities.

According to the descriptions attached to the photos, Hatcher will be playing a character named Rhea while Sorbo has been cast as Lar Gand.

If we look to the comics, Lar Gand is, of course, another name for Mon-El, but it looks like the show will be taking the character in an entirely different direction unless the Mon-El we know has not only been lying about his true identity but has also been lying about his name. As for Rhea, she's a bigger mystery as there is no major villain tied to Superman/Supergirl lore with that name currently residing in the DC Comics universe. Out of the two known Rheas, one is an Olympian and the other is a member of the Doom Patrol, and while, the latter has apparently crossed paths with the Man of Steel, it's unclear whether either iteration will have any ties to Hatcher's version.

Check out twenty-eight promotional stills from episode sixteen, titled "Star-Crossed," below:

I like how royally fabulous-looking Rhea looks like, she is proud of her status and wants everyone to know who she is since it appears she never takes off that crown.

Lar Gand being Kevin Sorbo IMO could mean that they could have entertained the idea of naming their son by his father's name but instead went for Mon-El, if that is how it is then I think it'll be a nice nod to Mon-El's comic background.

Really looking forward to this Daxamite royal couple and their role in the show.

The Supergirl costume is the best on TV i think. I don't even watch Supergirl but every time i see anything Supergirl related my take-away is always - damn, that costume that looks great.

Plus i like Teri Hatcher so it's cool she's in this.

Well, they're dressed like Kryptonians and they seem to be embracing Mon-El. I'm guessing his parents show up looking for him. And, of course, they'll want him to leave with them. Or take over Earth, one or the other.
