After Tyler Hoechlin's debut as Superman in the season premiere of Supergirl was met with such a warm reception from critics and fans, alike, it looks like Round 2 might be just around the corner.

Just moments ago, E! News reported that Hoechlin will reprise his role as the Man of Steel in the upcoming season finale, which will air on May 22. Plot details weren't disclosed, but it's not a stretch to assume his trek back to National City might have something to do with lending a hand to his cousin Kara in her attempt to take down both Rhea and her evil forces as well as the looming Cadmus threat.

At the moment, the Melissa Benoist-led series is on its spring hiatus, but when it returns at the end of the month, Kara will have her hands full with both Jack Spheer and Lena Luthor, the latter of whom may be on the verge of discovering Kara's biggest secret.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

The hour-long drama centers on Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who was born on the planet Krypton and escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Helen Slater as Dr. Eliza Danvers
Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers
Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer
Chris Wood as Mon-El
Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Lynda Carter as President Olivia Marsdin
Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman

@TheRealMandarin - He was a spot on Superman! Screw the trolls, he brought a confidence and optimism that cynical Snyder did not get.

@bigdannymac - just because everything connected these days doesn't meant it couldn't work. Even Supergirl is in an alternate world in order to connect with Flash, Arrow and Legends.

I'd watch it for sure...I love how they have been able to show the Hall of Justice and the Legion of Doom's lair! Just makes me want to see a JL series

@bigdannymac - Not the reason they aren't making it. It's because Superman is currently being used in the films. It's the whole reason why we have a Green Arrow show that's basically a Batman show, a Batman show that is set years before he's even Batman, and a Supergirl show when the last tv appearance of Superman was in a show years before he was Superman.
