SUPERMAN & LOIS Adds UNFORGETTABLE Actor Dylan Walsh As General Samuel Lane

We've seen several different small-screen incarnations of Lois Lane's father over the years, and now Superman & Lois is about to introduce another. Dylan Walsh has been cast as General Lane in The CW show.

The CW's upcoming Superman & Lois series has added a new take on Lois Lane's army general father, Samuel Lane. According to Deadline, Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck, Unforgettable) will play the role.

We've seen quite a few different incarnations of General Lane on the small screen over the years, most recently on Supergirl where he was played by Glenn Morshower. This version of the DC Comics characters is described as "a no-nonsense Army general who’s determined to keep America, and the world, safe from all threats – from this world or beyond. Lane’s a workaholic who demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life."

Sounds about right! This new series will be a little different to previous Man of Steel-centric shows, however, as the story will focus on Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) raising a family and dealing with the "stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society."

Former Flash showrunner Helbing will executive produce Superman & Lois with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions. The show will go straight to series (13 episodes), and production is expected to get underway as soon as it's safe to do so.

Are you guys looking forward to this one? What do you make of Walsh being cast as General Lane? Let us know in the usual place.

He's only like 15 years older than her. But that's never stopped the CW before, they chose Erica Durance to play Melissa Benoist's mother lol.

Seeing as J’onn probably gave Clark his pre-crisis memories, poor Superman must be having the weirdest time right now
-obviously his world has merged
-He and Lex were probably never enemies
-Prime Clark must have settled down with Lois long before he did on earth 38.
-having multiple teenage kids instead of one infant.
-Somehow his wife’s dad looks like an entirely different dude.

Geoff Pierson would be a great Sam Lane. Also, Pierson is the perfect age to be the Lois Lane's father.

After seeing the different effects that Crisis has had on the shows so far I am going with that some characters, Superman & Lois' in this case, have been aged up and de-aged.

Clark was surprised to hear about "the boys" and it's safe to say by the time Crisis was over that they are teenagers. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised that Dylan Walsh's Sam Lane is the same character from Supergirl S1 on CBS BUT in his case, he got de-aged to be more young-esque.

Curious to see how he interacts with his grandsons and also Superman.

@Nebula - Well the Arrowverse has recast before, Sara Lance being the most obvious. Plus this is post Crisis and they said things will be different so this Sam Lane might not be the earth 38 sam lane

Hopefully this show addresses how they can be intimate safely, like how he doesn’t pull her head off while he’s trying to enjoy a bj or something.
