SUPERMAN & LOIS Casts GRACELAND Star Erik Valdez As Lana Lang's Husband

Deadline has added another actor to the cast of Superman & Lois, as Erik Valdez (Graceland) has joined The CW series as a series regular opposite Emmanuelle Chriqui (who will play Lana Lang). Valdez is playing Kyle Cushing, Lang's husband and a Smallville’s fire chief and local hero who’s seen his fair share of tragedy.

Small town raised with small town beliefs, Kyle doesn’t care much for the big city and often butts heads with people that come from it, so he probably has something to say about Clark Kent moving there. If we had to hazard a guess, we'd say he's probably not a fan of Supes either!

Written by The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing Helbing, Superman & Lois revolves around the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist, played by Hoechlin and Tulloch, as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Valdez recently appeared in USA's Graceland as crime lord Carlito Solano, while other TV credits include New Girl, Mistresses, 90210, Breaking In, Numb3rs, CSI: Miami, The O.C., and The Gilmore Girls. The hunky actor also served as a series regular on the Emmy-winning General Hospital.

This is starting to sound like a sitcom. Lets see if they beat WandaVision to the punch.

@mastakilla39 - This won't hold a candle to WandaVision

Why do Superman adaptations resent spending time on Clark's journalistic side so much? Outside of the Fleischer cartoons and Superman TAS, that component's almost always sidelined (assuming it even appears at all)

@TheJustinHammer - So you agree with me? That's the point I'm making haha

I'm starting to think that half of the show's story will take place in both Metropolis and in Smallville going by the descriptions of Lana and this character. Ironically that was how Smallville was around S5 and beyond too: it went from Clark's hometown to the big city.
