SUPERMAN & LOIS: Check Out Some New Stills From The Upcoming Series Premiere On The CW

Superman & Lois is fast approaching, and The CW has now released some new stills for the highly anticipated series. It still looks vastly different to anything else we've seen from the ArrowVerse The CWVerse, but that's certainly not a bad thing, and a tonal shift for these shows would be welcomed.

Many fans have grown bored with the lighter, sometimes sillier tone of shows like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, so making the Man of Steel's series feel like a serious, cinematic adventure could bring new viewers to the network who are on the hunt for a slightly more mature take on superheroes.

Regardless, these images from Superman & Lois put the spotlight on what appears to be a flashback to Clark Kent and Lois Lane's first meeting, their teenage sons, and the Man of Tomorrow himself.

Written by Todd Helbing and produced by Greg Berlanti, Superman & Lois is based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and revolves around the world’s most famous Super Hero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent, played by Tyler Hoechlin, and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch, as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Superman & Lois will premiere on February 23, with a 90-minute premiere. That kicks off at 8pm ET/PT, and will be followed by a 30-minute special, Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope, at 9.30pm ET/PT.

The full gallery of stills can be found at Kryptonsite, but here are the highlights:

Proportion is off. otherwise looks good. definitely will check it out. looks like the most ambitious CW show to come out. makes sense why everything else is getting cancelled. you can see where their budget is going.

@Jaykay21 - kinda weird though since cw is pretty woke. You'd think the idea would be to either keep it the same budget as the atypical cw show or put that money into something like supergirl.

@Jaykay21 - Yeah it looks like we are finally getting an iteration of superman that has never been adapted yet which is "Daddy Supes". Superman Returns and Lois & Clark sequel all got cancelled before they can touch this idea so this seems like a spiritual sequel to these 2. Its a really interesting concept to see how Superman is now going to struggle like Spiderman who's always battling responsibility with his personal life.

While everything looks ok for this I don’t trust CW to make a good Superman show. Definitely going to be a wait to watch thing for me. The Flash was the only decent show besides season 1 of legends of tomorrow from CW.

@slickrickdesigns - Arrow S1 and S2 were pretty great.

I fully trust CW to start this show off strong and kill it with fire in S3.

I don't understand the decision to add such a stupid amount of padding on the suit. It ruins an otherwise pretty good looking Superman suit. Hoechlin is already in pretty good shape.

Smart of Superman to add extra padding after Supergirl consistently and easily beat him over and over, the guy needs to protect himself.

Damn. Looks good. Might have to watch this.

Padding makes him look like a cartoon

@BlackBeltJones - Yeah. I mean, look at the picture in this article and look at this.

Hoechlin is not that buff tbh, lol. And that's OK, he can still pass for Superman, but don't "Musclebob Pants" him.

@KWilly - Padding makes him seem c=too cartoonish. You can have a Superman who isn't a walking bag of muscles and that's better than trying to pass him off as one with padding.

Umm.....no, if the amount of whining and complaining I constantly read on this site are any indication, the viewers definitely do NOT like a mature take on Superheroes. If it doesn't fit the Marvel model of all light and constant humor even in supposedly serious situations, then no one will like it

@RebelCommander - I feel like that translates to more melo dramatic conversations about personal relationships. I mean really how mature can the content get from a CW show about Superman and Louis?? Marriage problems, child problems, political problems... I’m pretty sure we aren’t getting super violence, foul language or soft core porn.

@RebelCommander - The Boys seem to do okay with a mature, R-rated take on Superheroes. Loved by both fans & critics. Even in the Boys, there are jokes & light humor.

I'm not sure if you're serious, or just being a troll.
