SUPERMAN & LOIS: New Promo For Season 3, Episode 3: "In Cold Blood" & GOTHAM KNIGHTS Ep3: "Under Pressure"

Tonight's episode of Superman & Lois featured an emotional reveal that completely changed everything for our titular couple. Next week, it's time to deal with the fallout and find a way to move forward.

Superman & Lois delivered yet another unexpected twist, as following Lois' (Elizabeth Tulloch) false pregnancy news last week, we learned that her true diagnosis is far direr as her follow-up tests revealed that she actually has inflammatory breast cancer, which is both rare and aggressive - and something her Kryptonian husband can't do anything about.

Speaking with TV Line, Elizabeth Tulloch revealed her initial thoughts about learning about her big plotline this season and how it will ultimately serve as season three's primary antagonist for the entire Kent family, “I was a little shocked when [the producers] first told me that’s what they wanted to do. But I actually think it’s pretty wonderful. This storyline hasn’t been done, and cancer is such a prevalent force in so many people’s lives. This villain is so relatable and so real, and more than anything it’s one that Clark and Superman can’t just go handle.

For Superman, who is this all-powerful superhero, to be faced with something he’s completely powerless against is even more grounding for the show, and it places a greater emphasis on the strength of us as a couple and the family dynamic. I thought it was exciting, and I hope the fans feel the same way.

As for next week, while Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) hopes to help her find a treatment plan, Lois will continue to do what she does best and dig deeper into Bruno Mannheim (Chad L. Coleman), dragging Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) with her. Meanwhile, Jonathan (Michael Bishop), Jordan (Alex Garfin), and Nat (Taylor Buck) run into unexpected trouble when they try to do a good deed.

Check out the new trailer below:

"In Cold Blood" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

Meanwhile, Jonathan (Michael Bishop), Jordan (Alex Garfin), and Nat's (Taylor Buck) attempt at a kind gesture is complicated by an unexpected obstacle. Lastly, Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Sarah (Inde Navarrette), and Kyle (Erik Valdez) adjust to their own new normal." Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Jai Jamison (#303). Original airdate 3/28/2023.

The season three cast features Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent/Superman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), Michael Bishop (Jonathan Kent), Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons), Tayler Buck (Natalie Lane Irons), Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo), Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane), and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang Cushing).

Things like Gotham Knights are why DC heroes, shows, and movies are not liked by the masses.

@SonOfAGif - Definitely why they aren't liked by fans of DC stuff. I'm not sure the GA cares or knows enough to differentiate why Gotham Knights isn't right compared to comics and other media. Nobody wanted it, thats for sure.

I don't plan on ever watching it unless it's one of those freak things where its actually somehow really good and the world acknowledges it's a must-see project.

Love this show. Superman Legacy has its work cut out if it wishes to do Superman justice the way this show does.

@Ojeet78 - I do agree, this show definitely nails the heart of Superman. I personally have been wanting to see a Superman film that really makes the city of Metropolis feel alive and puts emphasis on Clark’s job at the bugle. That’s an element that Snyder pretty much fast forwarded through so he could get to the Knightmare scenario. Legacy definitely has an opportunity to set itself apart as the kind of Superman film many fans have always wanted, but never gotten.

Im really glad S&L is still pleasing fans. I decided after season 1 I was gonna wait and see if this show stays good or ends up dipping and dying. I really dont wanna invest in it if it flops the landing and wastes my time. So imma wait to binge it once its finished.

Still like checking in though.

@TheVandalore - I wouldnt wait. This is the best Superman depiction since Christopher Reeve plus great cast chemistry and storylines. Glad its no longer affiliated with whats left of the Arrowverse

This is EXACTLY the type of storyline that is perfect to show why Superman is the greatest comic book character.

“He’s too powerful so he’s boring”.

Use him as a character to confront the things that makes us human; even the things that scare us.

This is why it is SO important for proper adaptions of Superman to ensure that Jonathan Kent to die of a heart attack. It is the defining moment of Clark’s life before he becomes Superman that shows him that even though he is all powerful, there are some things that he cannot stop or help or save. And for someone who desires to be one of us, he can never be.

It’s why Snyder’s adaption of Jonathan Kent failed so miserably in Man of Steel.

Im surprised DC didn’t think of this storyline for the comics, but not surprised.

Kudos to the producers on this.

Superman & Lois is pretty good.

Gotham Knights is even worse than the rest of all the past CW soapy crap.

Bitise Tulloch is still my favorite Lois Lane and the most recent episode shows why. Glad season 3 is off to a great start.

The reason this show is really good, is because its about Clark the human and not Superman the God.

Wow, watch for the next exciting episode of Superman and Lois when Clark gets his prostate checked! What a cheap lame show. Can’t afford to have Superman in Metropolis so we’ll make Smallville 2.0. Making Superman married and have kids was a mistake in the comics and it’s definitely a mistake on TV. This can’t be cancelled quick enough!

"This storyline hasn’t been done"... by our show before? By Superman? I mean, you really, really have limit that statement for it to work. "It's been done by everyone" is much closer to the truth!
