SUPERMAN & LOIS Set Photos Bring Back The Man Of Steel's Classic Max Fleischer-Inspired Costume

The series premiere of Superman & Lois featured Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel decked out in his classic costume (his mom made it for him), and newly revealed set photos confirm it will make its return...

Superman & Lois has massively exceeded expectations since premiering on The CW earlier this year, and one of the coolest parts of that lengthy premiere was seeing the Man of Steel wearing a live-action version of his classic costume.

Inspired by the Max Fleischer Superman cartoon from the 1940s, it looked terrific, and Kal-El revealed to a young bystander that his mom made it. Now, thanks to Just Jared Jr., we have a newly revealed batch of set photos confirming that the suit will return in the second half of the show's first season.

As for what else was revealed here, Elizabeth Tulloch was also spotted, so chances are we're going to see the first meeting between this version of Superman and Lois Lane. That should be fun, and it's definitely a nice surprise that this costume could have a recurring presence in the series.

Episodes return on Tuesday, May 18th, and it's good to see that production has resumed.

In our review of the series premiere, we concluded by saying "The epic Superman series we've been waiting for, Superman & Lois' series premiere is cinematic, bold, and a step in the right direction for the Man of Steel as The CW looks to embrace what makes this character great."

Still looks great. Hopefully it's a flashback scene. Even though I truly like the show's premise setting, I'd still love to see more of this Supes "classic age" in Metropolis. Not too much though, just what is relevant to the story at hands.

Is dude really that swole? Or do they pad these suits up for him?

Either way, I've never watched these shows. Is he a good actor?

@Tonic24k - he did bulk up more, but there is padding

@Tonic24k - he's in pretty good shape, but the muscle suit greatly exaggerates the physique.

@Tonic24k - the best superman series ever. you should try watching it. totally different than the typical CW.

@solskulldeath - That's good to know. I enjoyed Smallville when I was younger but eventually the CW brand started equating to cheesey for me. I'll give it a look!

@Tonic24k - If you liked Smallville, you'll like this show. It doesn't feel like the CW cheese. highly recommend.

@Tonic24k - Just to add on to what everyone else is saying... I recommend it. Watching it back-to-back with any other CW show is like quality whiplash.

@Tonic24k - expect Clark kent struggling to become a good father and become a powerful protector of human mankind.....you can feel his struggle. the fighting scene is much better and good for CW level...and I don't think it's under the CW budget, seems under HBO max

False. CAVILL has it in him, WB/Snyder has just suppressed it.

@dracula - Yep. I love this show more than is probably safe for me at this stage. My fellow Tennessean Elvis there was strangely more of a fan of the Marvels/Shazam family especially Freddy Freeman, strangely.

Is it just me or does the padding look slightly better on this suit than the main suit? Or does the underwear just break it up better?

Still wish they'd reduce the padding a little bit. Looks pretty damn good otherwise.
