EDGE OF TOMORROW's Franz Drameh Joins THE FLASH/ARROW Spinoff As 'Jay Jackson'

Well, this character's true identity is being kept under wraps for now, but whichever DC superhero he's revealed as, he will be played by Franz Drameh who you may recognize from Edge Of Tomorrow.

It's speculation time! Reports are coming in that Franz Drameh (Attack The Block, Hereafter, Edge Of Tomorrow) has joined the cast of the CW's Arrow/The Flash spinoff show. His character has the good old fashioned alliterative secret identity name of Jay Jackson, but the DC superhero he's actually playing remains a mystery. Could it be Static Shock? Black Lighting perhaps?

We do have some details on this Mr. Jackson, as according to the official press release he'll be a "former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew." That makes him sound a LOT like Cyborg, but with that character expected to make his big screen debut in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, is that likely?

Whoever he turns out to be he'll join Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein) and Caity Lotz (?). The new series will air sometime this year.

This show is sounding greater and greater with every casting choice attached to it. Hopefully CW saw the Daredevil show on Netflix and will make this spinoff just as great.

But that MAY be wishful thinking...

Black Lightning? That's too racist. Better be Wally, call him Black Flash.

They wasted Doug Jones, that should be a crime. Why not have him be Gorilla Grodd instead of that lame ass cyclops ripoff?

Pretty sure this character is not supposed to be a teenager.

It's not Wally West unless they do a soap opera type deal or alternative universe.

Edge of Tomorrow was one of, if not, the most underrated movies of last year; it was awesome.

Cyborg description.
Static has a web series in the works.
Going to assume Wally or Black Lightning.

That description sounds a lot like Cyborg, but I was under the impression that (Flash notwithstanding) DC's movie division was making its characters off-limits to the TV division (hence Deathstroke having one appearance in Arrow S3 and probably not appearing again, as well as the Suicide Squad being written out of the show).

If they're doing cyborg why not Bats and Sups. I mean I am ok if they are different version, even if they don't appear on screen. Just mention them and BOOM!

It's not gonna be Cyborg. I'm 100% positive it's not. If anything it's black lighting or black vulcan.

Jay=J=Jefferson Jackson=The fact that Black Lightning looked like a member of the Jackson 5.

I'm going with Mal Duncan aka Vox...maybe they'll have him suit up as Guardian like he was in Young Justice.
