BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN — Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death.  Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own.  When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Gabrielle Stanton.

Love the costume now that I can see it up close. I just wish the image were high-res... this looks like it was photographed off of a computer screen.

It's cool and all but he should have been a bit older. But still, looks good and all.

Contrary to popular belief, Jay Garrick was a young man once. He doesn't always have to look like Barry's grandfather.

It has a very WWII feel to it. Like Sky Captain, The Rocketeer and the Minutemen from Watchmen. Which makes sense because that's the era he came from.

Also Teddy Sears is really old...in CW years. LOL!

ummm, its cool that they're doing Jay Garrick, but considering the show has a campy appeal I don't know why they didn't go all the way with the character with the costume and making him older. Still cool, though, and I know D.C. has their hard on for dark and gritty in the movies but hopefully we see the entirety of the flash family in the movies(Wally west, iris west, wally west, Jay Garrick, and possibly even Impulse).

Love Jays look, pretty perfect. Only thing I'd change is making the symbol all yellow.

@McGee

Speaking of Sky Captain, if you haven't read this article about/interview with Kerry Conran, it's pretty great.

I like it ... they made it look as un-silly as they possibly could without going overboard and trying to make it 'cool.'
Although part of the charm of Jay Garrick's (and Alan Scott's) costume is that it looks so damn stupid.

He's still working on that...

Jay wasn't that old when he first met Barry. Teddy Sears seems to be about the right age honestly. Besides, looking at the trailers and promos, he's already nailing it as Jay.

@MrSocko

SPEEDFORCE. If it doesn't make sense, it's always speedforce :P

Looks just like the suit he had in Smallville season 11.
Definitely needs a chin strap though. I could swear it had a strap at some point in the last decade.

CombatWombat - What the F is that abomination in the second picture?!

So when Eddie shot himself and erased Eobard shouldn't that have also reset Barry since that time line had been erased? Cause Eobard being back in that time is what prompted him to speed up Barry becoming the flash but since he never did that shouldn't Barry have not become the flash yet?

Actually it would virtually nullify the entire first season cause the particle accelerator wouldn't have exploded yet
