Released with this week's final episode of Vixen, this new Flash promo provides our first look at the season two villain, Zoom. The promo also features new footage of Jay Garrick, the original Flash, as he compares nicknames with Barry, "Scarlet Speedster, you ?" "The Crimson Comet".

The Flash returns next Tuesday October 6th in the season opener, "The Man Who Saved Central City".

While I'm pretty sure that that is only a place-holder CGI tease of Zoom and not his actual look, i'm also confident that he'll look like a Blue Daniel West! Which is pretty awesome imo.

Decent show with great action and is not shy about it's comic book source material, but come on...

Im guessing it meow... Zoom is alternate timeline Barry! I just realized Jay Garrick doesn't hide his identity. But I guess he's too fast for people to see anyway.

Plot twist: It's not Zoom, but either Barry or Eobard.

Take a look at the trailer again, and some of the details of the suit you can just very barely make out. He's got the shoulder pads the Reverse-Flash suit has that are riveted onto it, you can very faintly make out the cutaway for the mouth on the mask. Zoom's suit was said to look entirely different than Barry or Eobard's, and his mask was said to reveal no face.

I bet this is Barry Allen going through the singularity getting affected by it. His suit looks the way it does because of the lightning inside of it. It would explain why his streak has been blue recently in promos rather than yellow like it should be.

It doesn't seem likely that Cavanaugh will be a lifer on this show, but I hope they find a way to keep him around for the full length of the series. He too good to let go. Maybe they'll do another time shift that will result Dr. Wells surviving in the past and we'll get the same character in the present minus the evil part. I'm glad they're not wasting time bringing in the big baddies. Thawne or Zoom should be villains that last through the life of the show. The freak of the week stuff gets stupid and contrived. I hope they don't fall into that trap like so many comic shows before it.

Loving it. Cisco's powers developing, two flashes, and a demonic Zoom! I hope Zoom is more like the Black Flash, the Reaper of the Speed Force.

@Dedpool I don't think he'll be like Black Flash. There's only so much you can do with that character when you have only three active speedsters. Barry, Eobard and Jay. I'd wait until Wally gets his powers, Jessie Quick gets her powers, and for Bart Allen, Max Mercury and Johnny Quick ever get introduced before going down Black Flashes road.

Zoom is Eddie Thawne.

Eddie was sucked into the singularity at the end of season one. The fact that we see Zoom just floating in the singularity when something (probably Barry trying to STOP the singularity) happens behind him tells me he's probably been trapped there a while, and the blue energy signature coming off of him suggests that he's powered by the same energy that makes up the singularity.

And since the thing is a TIME vortex, that would explain how Jay Garrick would know about him-- he managed to escape the singularity into Earth 2's past, become a pain in the ass for its resident speedster, and then "catch up" with the present just in time to try to get his revenge on Barry for all the crap he's gone through.

Hell, that would even line up with the comic book Zoom's power set-- since Hunter Zolomon got his abilities in a time travel accident, and is only super-fast because he's moving freely through time.

There is just SO MUCH EVIDENCE to suggest that Eddie is Zoom, that if it turns out to be anybody else, I am going to be supremely disappointed.

OMG, I'd almost forgotten why I LOVE this show. It has so much fun with its history, its characters... I can't wait for the new season to get going!

Why is everyone raving about this? It's just a [frick]ing black silhouette with blue eyes. The same blue affect everyone complains AoS uses too much

So I'm guessing they will adopt the story line of Eobard Thawn where he obsesses over Barry to the point where he gets plastic surgery to look just like him? Maybe he's an alternative version of Barry (the version we see in jail while Barry is in the Speed Force)?
