Warning: This article will contain SPOILERS for the season 3 finale of The Flash
Season three of
The Flash concluded pretty open ended, with the gang rejoicing at the demise of Savitar only to be faced with the reality that someone needed to take his place in the Speed Force. Always the hero, Barry agreed leaving Central City with out The Flash.
With Barry vacating into the Speed Force the next logical step would be to turn Wally West from Kid Flash to full fledged Flash, right? No so fast. Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Wally West/Kid Flash, has revealed that Wally adopting The Flash moniker isn't happening anytime soon.
“It’s not something that’s on my radar," Lonsdale explained to
Newsweek.
"I feel as though there is so much story to tell and Wally has so much growing to do. I’d like to see that journey continue. That’s what I think is important. We need to see how these character[s] realistically get to where they are headed for.”
The quote seems to indicate that Wally will be working through some issues throughout season four, likely stemming from his time in the Speed Force. It would make sense to hold off on Wally West becoming The Flash since presumably Barry will be coming back at some point.
The Flash will premiere on
The CW on Tuesday October 10th at 8:00 P.M.
