After a lengthy hiatus, The Flash is nearly back for its ninth and final season and ahead of the February 8 premiere, The CW has released seven new promotional stills from the hour, offering an awesome new look at Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in his costume along with new shots of Iris (Candice Patton), Chester (Brandon McKnight), and Allegra (Kayla Compton).
The episode synopsis teases a time loop adventure to kickstart the season, which should be plenty of fun and the early buzz suggests the premiere will be heavy on the Barry/Iris romance, after last season kept them separated for an extended period of time.
The description reads, "Barry creates a map book to guide him and Iris throughout their future in order to keep her safe, but the results are not what he expected, and instead, they relive the same day over and over again. Joe has a heart-to-heart with Cecile. A new big bad is introduced to Team Flash and friends and foes, old and new, begin to descend upon Central City."
While not much else is known about the coming thirteen-episode final season, the synopsis does essentially confirm that many familiar faces from the past will be resurfacing throughout the next few months to help bring the Scarlet Speedster's run to a close.
