After a pretty heavy episode, which saw Jay Garrick sacrifice himself to save Wally and also saw Barry & Iris put their relationship on hold, next week's installment will lighten up the mood a bit as Supergirl, the Martian Manhunter, and Mon-El arrive on Earth-1 after being attacked by the Music Meister.

The episode will feature a number of original compositions, which have been kept under wraps, but it's likely we'll start to get multiple sneak previews as we approach next Tuesday.

Check out the new extended promo for episode seventeen, titled "Duet," below:

Plus, here are a pair of featurettes:

"Duet" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

DARREN CRISS ("GLEE") GUEST STARS AS THE MUSIC MEISTER IN THE FLASH AND SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CROSSOVER - Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can't cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#317). Original airdate 3/21/2017.

Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom's game and uncovers the evil speedster's true goal: to destroy all the earths in the multiverse. In the face of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick
Tom Felton as Julian Dorn

@2013venjix - well people have been calling this episode crap, before we saw any images, or knew the plot or saw footage just because its a musical, and like I said musicals can work and Once More With Feeling is the gold standard for musical episodes

@2013venjix - I haven't seen much of Xena, its decent show but its no Buffy. I would be surprised if its musical is as good as buffy's and seriously doubt its better

@2013venjix - quality over quantity, plus aren't the Xena musical episode just one of stuff that doesn't really connect to the story, the buffy musical works into the many plot points and moves character arcs forward. plus the songs aren't just fun to listen to they relate to what is going on with the characters

No thanks. I am barely hanging on to watching this show as it is, so this is one episode I will skip so that I don't give up on it completely.

@ComicFanMCUDCU - If anything, They might as well cancelled Flash, Supergirl along with "Legends (IMO they need to get rid of)" and of course, Arrow (now known as Felicity and Friends) & bring back Glee on CW & then all is good in the F***ING CW demographic fandom!

That simple. :(

People here and their aversion to superhero musicals. Like, can you really look at these shows (and the source material) and say that making an episode around a villain who can make people sing featuring casts that are full of talented singers is anywhere near the silliest thing there is?

I have never, not once, in my 36 years of life, ever been out and about and saw someone expressing their thoughts or words via singing them. Musicals are beyond stupid to me, because no one friggin sings what they are saying, especially in a conversation with someone else also singing as a part of said convo. If I am ever to come across such a scene, and people are singing their conversation, I will feel highly inclined to stick my foot up their asses. If you are singing a song, or karaoke even, then I can see the point, but for the sake of having a conversation, song is not needed, at all!
