THE FLASH Is Getting Old In The New Promo For Season 8, Episode 16; "The Curious Case of Bartholomew Allen"

Next week's episode of The Flash should be a fun one, as it looks like Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will be experiencing some serious growing pains when he's hit by a shockwave that causes him to prematurely age.

Hilarity should ensue as he and Team Flash attempt to reverse the effects, but it's hard to say what else the episode could contain as The CW is notably vague regarding further plot details.

Plus, it'll be an extra special episode as Legends of Tomorrow veteran Caity Lotz helmed the hour. It'll be her fourth time directing an Arrowverse installment following LoT episodes: "Mortal Khanbat" in season five, "The Satanist's Apprentice" in season six, and "wvrdr_error_100 not found" in season seven.

Check out the new promo for episode sixteen, titled "The Curious Case of Bartholomew Allen," below:

Would make no sense but would be cool if he aged into John Wesley Shipp by the end

@ElricReturns - same.

I get why many people hated it, but to be honest I thought those photoshoot articles were great additions to the site

This was easily the most trippy episode in the Season and it doubled-down thanks to the entire Still Force being infected by the time sickness, lagging and multiple moments on repeat over and over. Accurate portrayal.

Joe was like an old hound on point with his doubts about Deon's intentions. To say that something didn't feel right is an understatement, first he played Barry just to found the isotope particle that he left within Iris to stabilize himself, strands him in the Still Force but then in a shapeless form reaches out to Nora in 2049 to help her dad?

Some of the theories already are that that either the time sickness really got him and is possessed or this could be a callback to the Negative Still Force he labeled back in 8x03. I seriously forgot about that detail and it makes me wonder, just like before, if there are also other negative counterparts for the Sage and Strength Forces. And if so are those organic or artificial because if they're the latter then there's only one folk who creates those...

Barry mentioning that Wally taught him how to medidate in order to connect with the other Forces feels to me like it was either a scene that was supposed to have taken place during the Forces storyline last year that wasn't shot because of all the COVID protocols of social distancing or because Keiynan Lonsdale wasn't available. Or it's something that happened between the time jump of 6 months before S8. Wouldn't be the first time in a while since other things have been named dropped to have happened off screen like when Black Lightning mentioned "Faust" in Armageddon.

Got excited when Barry connected with the spark of the Still Force in him and said he could see Harry and Jesse but then got less hyped realizing it must've been the a peak to the past since they're dead. (Or not) The one about Cisco and Frost likely was also from the past but talking about Bart and his children, Nora's marriage and then "Max", yeah, that Max is coming soon.

Favourite part was definitely how it wasn't so easy to escape from the Still Force just because they connected themselves to it, even by trying to phase. Good challenge.

And the subplots are all leading somewhere: Chester's faith in people is gonna take a hit soon once he realizes whoever was on the other side of the vlog was just playing on his kindness in order to hack his files. It's leading somewhere dangerous.

Chillblaine returning to help Caitlin in this FrankenFrost project...feels also like he could be playing her and the only way to stop her from doing this is by sticking close for sabotaging it. Him changing his mind is too sudden.

We haven't seen the last of Tinya's role in the story since her mom is still trapped in the Still Force, it is all gonna come together.

Allegra's little help to Barry on the field when they were mourning Frost is gonna come to bite her with that co-worker being onto her and probably Cecile too if that future on repeat moment in the Still Force is a sign of it.

Before Iris was fractured in time she was working on an article about Fast Track Labs, it is the 2nd mention it gets so far after 8x13. The same research facility that Avery was an intern for.

It's all like chess.

And is that doctor in the preview the one from Black Hole who created Ultraviolet? He looks a lot like it.

The plot kicks thickening.
