Zoom may have unmasked to reveal Jay Garrick's face in The Flash this week, but we're still a long way off knowing the full story behind who or what Hunter Zolomon truly is. Regardless, Teddy Sears has been having fun with his fans on Instagram by posting a comparison photo from when the show kicked off last year to now, and well, his transformation is certainly a complicated one! What are your current theories on Zoom? As always, be sure to weigh in with your thoughts on this in the usual place.

Golden age.

@TheBeard - probably either the real Jay Garrick or yet another Jay/Hunter.

@TheBeard - Someone came up with the idea that it might be Jay Garrick from Earth Prime. Best theory yet, in my opinion.

The man in the mask has to be Jay from Earth 1, the one that earth 2 Jay said didn't exist. Zoom is Hunter Zoloman, and he killed Earth 2 Jay

What if it's Eobard Thawn from Earth-2, but instead of coming back in time to become the Professor, he inhabited Jay Garrick's form and entrapped him in the iron mask. The other thought is that this will lead to an introduction to the multiverse, so there could be any number of Jay Garricks.

@Dunejedi - actually there was an article posted earlier this week that said Zoom was revealed. It's not hard to infer fron the title description "unexpected evolution of Jay Garrick following that shocking revelation in this week's instalment of The Flash." It's not blatant, but it was obvious before I clicked on the article. I only clicked to write the comment. Good try though.

My prediction:

Okay, so Hunter Zoloman is Zoom, that is what is known. Now, I think that Jay Garrick as we see him with the gang is a powerless clone, sent by Zoloman, to interact and help so that Zoom is one step ahead. When it was discovered he has a cell disease, that's his cells disappearing from existence. Velocity 9 stabilized him. When Caitlyn asked to see his dopelganger, that was actually zoloman, who helped his intercept prove his story is correct and keep everyone trusting him. The man in the mask, as repeatedly stated, is Jay Garrick, the original. He can't use his speed due to the cloning process from Zoom.

@dannramm113 - best explanation I've heard thus far, bravo sir and I believe you are right on the money in your prediction. Makes total sense and I hope is true. I was a little disappointed with Jay/Hunter being Zoom part of me wanted it to be Henry. Thought that would have been a cool reveal and father vs son type situation.

Pretty sure the man in the mask is a black guy.

Earth 2 Jay- Flash

Earth 2 Hunter- Zoom

Earth 1 Jay- Man in the mask

Earth 1 Hunter- Guy on the bench, non factor.

Jay and Hunter are twins separated at birth on both Earths.

@JFogg - in the comics Barry has a twin.

I remember in the comics unlike other speedsters Zooms powers are actually temporally based (involves actually moving through time and controlling the speed of time passing around him) this is why his "speed" is always superior to the flashes..maybe the time based abilities will play into the explanation of multiple Jay's
