THE FLASH: The Reverse-Flash Returns in The New Promo For Season 5, Episode 10: "The Flash & The Furious"

A few weeks ago, we learned that Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) had indeed been working with a partner and in one of the series' biggest twists, her mysterious benefactor was revealed to be none other than the Scarlet Speedster's (Grant Gustin) greatest adversary: Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

While it remains to be seen exactly what he's planning for Barry and how Nora and Cicada (Chris Klein) factor in, this is surely a game-changing development that could have seriously major implications down the line for all of Team Flash.

"The Flash & The Furious" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

TBA (#510). Original airdate 1/15/2018.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

It's just like the showrunner said, episode 10 is picking up right from where we left off with Nora and Thawne in 2049 and their dynamic of "coach and trainee" is going to be addressed.

That brief shot of Iris at the Flash Museum makes me think it's part of a flashback from that scene of little Nora reading a comic book and holding a toy of Flash. Unless it is misleading and she's actually being liked vibed from the present with Cisco's help to find out something there, if so, poor Cisco. :P

I could swore the original title was "Spin Out", oh well.

And the hunt for Cicada isn't slowing down. Curious how the "act two" as Todd Helbing described goes now that Orlin is on the run.

Haven't been watching The Flash for a long time...but god DAYUMN that suit Barry has is [frick]ing ugly!

ArthurFleck - 12/15/2018, 11:22 AM
@WeAreVenom86 - I cant get past how terrible that suit is too. How that got approved for use over an entire season is genuinely beyond me. I'm honestly terrified they are gonna make this the new suit for more than just this season. It is the absolute worst and pulls me out of the show every time it's on screen.

Actually the suit itself isnt too bad, it's that cowl. The helmet cowl is just the absolute worst design in the Arrowverse, even worse than the costumes on Black Lightning which are also terrible.

@WeAreVenom86 - Yeah, this awful costume is quite distracting.

Compared with this crap, the 90's outfit is a "state of the art" costume.
SethBullock
SethBullock - 12/15/2018, 11:33 AM
@ArthurFleck - The cowl is awful indeed, but the whole suit looks like cheap cosplay, previous designs looked much better (for a TV budget), and The Flash of the future also had a better suit that was just an evolution of previous seasons' suits, while this is quite a radical change that doesn't make much sense and looks like ****.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 12/15/2018, 11:43 AM
@KoolerThanJesus - oh dont even get me started on the future suit.

The future Flash suit is perfection and I'm still pissed off we aren't seeing that one used. Its seriously big budget movie quality. I'd be fine with that suit being used in the DCEU, let alone for TV? Come one, that suit is gorgeous!

Nebula

@ArthurFleck -
He used that for all of season 4.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 12/16/2018, 1:18 AM
@Nebula - nope.

This is the season 4 suit. Very similar, almost the same design based on the Future Flash suit from season 3, but different materials, different sections and it fit him very differently.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 12/16/2018, 1:39 AM
@Nebula - and let me clarify that its basically the same suit but it's not. The future Flash suit was padded to give future Flash a bulkier frame to show a difference in size between the 2 Flashs, the materials in the future suit were shinier and had a more streamlined and solid look. The suit that Cisco designs in season 4 with all the extra tech is based entirely off the design of the future flash suit but it is a different material, less suit padding, more lines and visible stitching and was also loosened. They basically remade the Future Flash suit to be more practical for filming over the course of the season and to be more flexible than the very stiff Future Flash suit. In design they are nearly identical but upon close inspection they are very different. And even story wise, the in show canon says Barry has that suit made farther into the future but the events of season 3 obviously changed that future.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 12/16/2018, 1:41 AM
@Nebula - but the season 4 suit never looked as epic and perfect as the Future Flash design did for that episode. That's why us fans are always whining about not getting the future Flash suit and not the season 4 suit.

@johnnymarr - so...all in all...new suit shit...OG Suit awesome. We agree.

So why isn't future Eobard Thawne played by Matt Letscher? Isn't the Tom Cavanagh version of Thawne just a disguise worn by Letscher?
SethBullock
SethBullock - 12/15/2018, 11:36 AM
@santoanderson - Because Letscher is probably busy somewhere else and Cavanagh is a permanent member of the cast and he is already being paid for appearing in the show every week.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 12/15/2018, 11:46 AM
@santoanderson - I wondered that too but I'm thinking this future imprisoned Thawne is a different version from the one we know that got killed in Legends.
GAThrawnIGF
GAThrawnIGF - 12/15/2018, 2:53 PM
@ArthurFleck - It's been confirmed that Reverse Flash is the one from Earth-X, and it's also been confirmed that Cavanagh will be the permanent face for the character. Cool beans!
MrCamw1
MrCamw1 - 12/15/2018, 3:37 PM
@GAThrawnIGF - but they also said earth x reverse flash is the original reverse Flash.
MrCamw1

@santoanderson - thats what ive been asking.
Nebula
Nebula - 12/16/2018, 12:59 AM
@MrCamw1 - He's the one from the Crisis on Earth X crossover, who was the original, season 1, Wellsobard RF.
MrCamw1
MrCamw1 - 12/16/2018, 2:15 AM
@Nebula - exactly. So is he before he went back and killed Barrys mom or after.
Nebula
Nebula - 12/16/2018, 8:52 AM
@MrCamw1 - After.
Luminus
Luminus - 12/16/2018, 11:19 PM
@santoanderson - Because Eobard Thawne is from the 22nd century, while Nora is from the 21st Century. This Thawne is the one we last saw in Earth X. Maybe. This Harrison Wells has Thawne's hair color, for some reason, or it's just grey from old age.

With his neck exposed, and the absence of the chin strap, this cowl is looking Captain America-Avengers1-levels of bad. The show is back to being enjoyable for me, though. I’m pumped for next year’s Crisis

I’m really glad that essentially Reverse Flash is being set up as the main big bad and I’m excited for the mid season finale to see what it reveals
