New THE FLASH Season 5 Image Shows Off The Scarlet Speedster's New Suit And His Daughter XS

Another new image from The Flash season five has been revealed and this one puts the spotlight on Barry Allen's latest costume as he teams up with his daughter (from the future) Nora West-Allen, a.k.a. XS!

Season four of The Flash was a little hit and miss but the hope is that the show can improve moving forward, especially with the spotlight set to turn to the daughter of the Fastest Man Alive. Nora West-Allen has travelled back in time for reasons which aren't immediately clear and the hero - known as XS in the comic books - joins her father (in his brand new suit) in the image that you can see below.

It's also been confirmed that we're getting a brand new version of Harrison Wells, a character who is seemingly his Earth's Sherlock Holmes according to showrunner Todd Helbing. "[He's called] Harrison Sherloque Wells. He’s French, and like his name suggests, he’s a master detective who’s come to help them track down this season’s big bad. He also motivates Ralph Dibny to put his PI hat back on, so we get to see these two out in the field a lot and see who’s got the best detective chops."

Is the Scarlet Speedster's new suit growing on you or are you not convinced? Let us know your thoughts on that and the remarks above in the comments section and stay tuned for further details.

Very comic book accurate. I still cringe when I think of the Snyder Era Flash outfit with the ridiculous wires.

@GeneralZod - Various news sources were invited to the set of "Justice League" and confirmed that the suit he wore in "Suicide Squad" and "Justice League" was not the final suit. Just as Batman wasn't always going to be the monster, Superman wasn't always going to be so unsure of himself, and Wonder Woman wasn't always going to pick her battles, The Flash's suit and run were going to improve.

@GeneralZod - Can someone explain to me how DC TV's suit is comic book accurate? In my eyes, to paraphrase Jerry Seinfeld, he looks like he's wearing The Flash's pajamas. I guess it's better than leather and scraps tied together, but it still doesn't look very comic accurate.

@SisterSunday52 - and Doomsday wasn't the real Doomsday, and Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was just the son of the real Lex Luthor, and dead CIA agent Jimmy Olsen wasn't the real Jimmy Olson and was just using the real Jimmy Olsen as a cover. And it's Dick Grayson's Robin who died, not Jason.

@SisterSunday52 - I can explain. Take a look at Showcase #4 or Flash #105. Carmine Infantino would very much approve.

The new suit honestly looks pretty dope. Helmet still looks weird as shit tho, its way too big in the back.

@Fekkius - yeah it looks like they went with a helmet style with speed cyclists in mind

The helmet looks better, but still needs some work

@dracula - to be fair, theyre always fine tuning these suits throughout the show, even when they dont go with an all new suit. So they may realize it needs a strap later.

Now that we have XS, would be cool if we could see her team up with the other Legion Of Superhero members from supergirls earth, maybe in the big crossover or a flash/ supergirl crossover, bring in Mon El and Saturn Girl

It’s been kinda a “slow burn” journey for me with the new suit but I haven’t taken a step back and after this image I am like 98% sold. A couple more shots from the front and footage or gifs and my fangasm over it will be fully complete.

Nora’s suit is cool too, best parts are her gauntlets and her yellow boots from
BTS pics. Maybe after this story ends for Season 6 she will leave them behind for her dad and thus the suit will be completely accurate. You can’t not say that they haven’t aimed higher every year wth the suit.

I really would love to see Jesse/Wally/Jay next to them sometime later. It’s crazy how steadily the Flash Family has grown over the years. We just need now Max Mercury and Bart Allen.

Looking forward to Harrison Sherloque Wells and if he ends up being this time the Wells that Ralph ends up getting close to just like Cisco got close in a way with H.R. so let’s hope Sherloque doesn’t bite the dust with Cicada. Unless he is a meta too haha.

Might be about time that we start getting some episodes summaries too.

Someone posted an image of Flash #177 with the giant head and I can never unsee it whenever I look at that mask now. Why couldn't they just keep the old one but remove the chin guard Batman style?

How did the Flash costume get worse? Like come on now, those look like pajamas and a bike helmet.

His cowl/helmet is giving me flashbacks to the horrible one worn by Captain America in the first Avengers movie. I think because he isn't a bulky/muscular guy, they have to be very mindful of his headgear as it will look too big.

Domino masks look so dumb in live action.

I don't know why, but the only one that worked was the Comedian one, IMO.

Wait, he has a daughter now?
Battabing
Battabing - 9/10/2018, 8:32 AM
@kRAVENklaw -

She's from the future. Barry and Iris actually had twins, Dawn and Don Allen. The hero known as XS is actually their granddaughter (daughter of Dawn Allen) in the comics, and a card-carrying member of the Legion of Superheroes.

I would like to see the concept art of the new suit at some point from Andy Poon, they always are uploaded most of the time.

I am not here to body shame Grant, his body is totally fine, the suit though is not. I hate being negative or having a go at something a lot of people worked hard on, but I can't believe with a crew of 100's, producers, editors, director, show runner no one....no one....said "wait wait wait This looks terrible on film, we can't release this. Either we work on the suit some more or go back to last seasons." I mean they must of seen these images and thought they don't look right and the audience is going to laugh. I feel so sorry for Grant, it's not his fault or his body shape, anyone wearing tights, super fit or thin, doesn't look good because of the way the material sits on the body. That is why every superhero in a film that is wearing any kind of lycra, tights costume wears a muscle suit underneath it to make sure the costume sits right. I'm not talking Snyder's Batman balloon muscle suit or Shazam's, I'm talking about people like Chris Evans in his FF costume or Toby in his Spiderman outfit. Both wear super fit, but still wore a muscle suit so the costumes looked right. The other huge issue is the egg head helmet, dear god why? If it is the same helmet as before but with out the chin strap and thicker neck, then they need to put them back on for it to look right. Or if it's a new helmet that for some reason they decided to enlarge, what the hell is wrong with you, get the size right. Either way it is an easy fix and should have been done before day one of shooting. I really can't believe a whole studio released this.

Here’s to hoping this season is better than last season. I got pretty bored of the show mid way through.
More Gorilla 🦍 Grodd please.
