Sean Astin Joins The Cast Of Guillermo del Toro And FX's THE STRAIN
The Lord of the Rings star is no stranger to small screen roles and showrunner Carlton Cuse has now confirmed that Sean Astin has joined the cast of The Strain.
As you can see from the Tweet below, The Strain's showrunner Carlton Cuse has revealed that Sean Astin has joined the cast of the highly anticipated FX series. However, the nature of this announcement means that we currently have no clue as to who Astin will be playing. However, some outlets speculate that he will portray, "Jim Kent, a CDC administrator who works with Goodweather and Martinez to investigating and controlling the vampire outrbreak." He joins an impressive cast which includes Corey Stoll, John Hurt, Kevin Durand, Mía Maestro and Doug Jones. The series has a pilot order (which will be helmed by the Pacific Rim director) but is being eyed for a full 13-episode pickup according to various outlets.
