Originally titled Agatha: House of Harkness, there's now a lot of excitement surrounding Agatha: Coven of Chaos. A sequel to WandaVision, we're not sure why the character is getting her own six-part series, though the expectation is that it will better explain magic's place in the MCU.
An appearance from the Scarlet Witch can't be off the table, while recent rumours have suggested we'll see Wiccan play a role in the Disney+ spin-off as well.
The Illuminerdi has now shared some new details about Agatha: Coven of Chaos, revealing that a Coven of Witches will be responsible for freeing "Agnes" from the mental prison Wanda Maximoff trapped her in. That means we're heading back to Westview, of course, and it's said Aubrey Plaza will be a member of this group (likely Ali Ahn as well).
We saw another Coven in WandaVision, of course, with Agatha expelled from that group in the 1600s for using dark magic. Her mother was among those who opposed the villain, though Agatha proved herself powerful enough to kill all of them, ensuring she would live to fight another day.
The site goes on to say that Billy Maximoff is indeed set to make his return in the show, and that he will be a teenager now who is either attending or visiting a Westview high school. That Coven is very interested in him, and we'd guess Billy's soul - or powers - ended up inhabiting Billy Kaplan's body, thereby leading to Wanda's "son" becoming the heroic Wiccan.
It was all very confusing in the comic books, so it will be down to Agatha: Coven of Chaos to make this work on screen! As a right now, there's no word on Marvel Studios' plans for Tommy/Speed.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos stars Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Emma Caulfield, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Eric André, with the show currently expected to premiere on Disney+ in Winter 2023/2024.
