"When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone, when I found out she was alive, I was just lucky to have her."

Peggy Carter said farewell to Steve Rogers and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War and now, she's saying goodbye forever. Sources have informed The Hollywood Reporter that ABC has decided to cancel the critically acclaimed Agent Carter after two low-rated seasons. The decision shouldn't come as a huge surprise by any means as it was expected for a few weeks now, but it's still certainly a disappointment for fans of the beloved character.

It's probably too early to say whether we'll ever see Hayley Atwell reprise the fan-favorite role in flashbacks like she did for Ant-Man, but in the meantime, if you're looking to catch more Atwell on your TV in the fall, her upcoming ABC procedural Conviction, where she plays the lead, has been officially picked up to series. You can check out the first teaser below:

“MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER” (Season 2) “Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

possibly picked up on Netflix for a third season? And I say this having watched neither the first or second season of the show, so maybe I'm speaking out of turn.

If Ike Perlmutter thinks it's ok to have an unresolved cliffhanger in the MCU he needs go jump off a cliff. Maintaining the integrity of the whole MCU is more important than the chump change required to keep the Television division in check.
