Marvel And ABC Are Developing A Second Comedy Series Alongside DAMAGE CONTROL

It looks like the MCU is about to become an even funnier place as ABC has confirmed today that they're moving ahead with yet another comedy series after previously announcing a sitcom revolving around the Damage Control team. What will this one be about though?

Are superhero sitcoms the next big thing? Both Marvel and DC seem to think so, and the former have revealed today that they're working on a second sitcom following the previously announced Damage Control. ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee revealed the news in an interview with IGN, commenting first on their plans for the group who clean up the messes left by superheroes battling in their city. "That's the one that's going to be coming out this season. I haven't read it yet. I can't wait to see it. We hope it's going to be great." While he wouldn't reveal what this second show is going to revolve around, he did confirm that they're hoping it will be on ABC and added that he's not concerned about NBC recently picking up DC's Powerless. "We definitely want to do Marvel comedies as well as dramas and of course, as you know, we supply lots of dramas to Netflix. Our job is to make great television. We pick up the best scripts we can, we put in the best casts. Our job is to make great TV." While these shows certainly sound like fun, could these networks be stretching the premise a little too thinly? Share your thoughts below.

I'd watch a whole show of just Captain America tidying up after battles.

As long as they're good that's all that matters.

I love Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agents of SHIELD, and Agent Carter so if they continue to make shows I enjoy I'll be happy.

I'm going to wait and see how these turn out, because I'm wishing for the best. I am starting to get worried about the abundance of these properties tho. Not for me bc I will watch them regardless, but performance, ratings and critic reviews may start to suffer soon

Damage Control seems like it has a lot of potential. If they did it like the Office and Parks and Recs, I would def watch.

Idk what this new series could be about.

Stretching it a bit thin with another comedy series when you haven't even seen how Damage Control will fair aren't we?

It's gonna be "The Pulse" with a more comedic tone. Only viable option I can think of.

Marvel is really PUSHING the "if it's MARVEL, people will watch" thing. We'll see how true that is here. They're literally testing how much power they have

Squirrel Girl was originally a mutant so she probably can't appear in an MCU title though I believe she was changed to not be a mutant (surprise surprise) during Secret Wars. Rights are probably all tangled up.

Ok I love Marvel and what they're doing but, this seems like they are spreading themselves a little thin.

Over saturation is already here. I can't even think of a tv show I watch that's not based on a comic. There's so-ho-ho many. The only upcoming show I can think of that I'm even a little excited about it Angie Tribeca.

I think I understand why they're going ahead with these. There is, on paper, a potential risk of heavy over-saturation, especially with spin-offs like Legends of Tomorrow and Most Wanted. But I think these comedic shows might be geared toward a different audience, one that is usually outside of the CBM target. So, if these work, then both studios could actually expand their viewership.

@Nomis good point dude.

Though to be honest, Agents of SHIELD season 1 was a lot of "Damage Control", especially that Thor 2 "tie-in".
