Disney CEO Reveals LOKI Was Disney+'s Most Watched Premiere; ARMOR WARS Will Scratch Iron Man Itch For Fans

Disney CEO Bob Chapek took part in a Q&A session at the Credit Suisse 23rd Annual Communications Conference yesterday, and shared a few minor updates for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He started by confirming that Loki was indeed Disney+'s most-watched series premiere on the streaming service. That's an impressive feat, especially following the likes of The Mandalorian, WandaVision, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It didn't really feel like Loki received the same promotional push the latter two Marvel Studios series did, making this news even more surprising.

Chapek also described the MCU as an "endless opportunity" for new content, but made it clear that there are no plans to split up Disney+, creating separate streaming platforms that would be the exclusive homes to Marvel Studios and Star Wars content. The CEO also dismissed the notion that Disney+ will launch a version that can be accessed for a lower fee/for free with adverts.

Getting back to the MCU, and Chapek also highlighted the upcoming Armor Wars series.

"Tell your Marvel fan that we’ve got a series called Armor Wars coming up, starring Don Cheadle as War Machine," he teased. "I think that will probably scratch that itch that our fans have for more Iron Man."

That's definitely an interesting comment, and while we know War Machine will be the lead, the series also feels like the most likely place for Ironheart to make her debut before starring in her solo series.

Time will tell on that front, but the future looks bright for the MCU on Disney's streaming platform.
