It's been confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will end with its upcoming third season, and there have been rumblings about recent reshoots making key changes to ensure the show delivers a satisfying series finale (seemingly without showrunner Dario Scardapane's involvement).
Some possible leaks for the Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 finale have now been shared on social media, and while we'd recommend taking them with a pinch of salt, they offer an intriguing glimpse at what might be to come for the MCU's Man Without Fear.
Apparently, Matt Murdock's time in prison will end when Luke Cage becomes New York City's mayor, and he pardons his fellow vigilante. When Matt is finally freed, he decides to give up being Daredevil—for now, at least—to spend time with Karen Page, who he learns is pregnant after hearing their baby's heartbeat.
As happy endings go, that would be a nice way to wrap up Matt's story and put him on the shelf until the decision is made to use him elsewhere in the MCU (Spider-Man 5, with any luck).
Of course, if it is the last time we see Charlie Cox's Daredevil, then it seems his story will wrap up in a suitably satisfying manner. If any of this is true, that is. For now, we'll just have to wait and see.
Talking at New York Comic Con this past weekend, Charlie Cox revealed how long Matt Murdock has been behind bars since the end of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
"[There's] interesting Matt Murdock-y stuff that's going on in his head," the actor teased. "Also, you know, being incarcerated for eight months does a number on a mind like Matt's."
That's a long time to be imprisoned, and we have to believe it will have a lasting impact on Daredevil. Of course, this timeline raises some big questions about the authenticity of this leak, unless the show ends months after Matt is freed (it would take at least six to eight weeks for even the Man Without Fear to detect a baby's heartbeat).
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3's cast includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Clark Johnson as Cherry, and Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles.
Krysten Ritter, meanwhile, will return as Jessica Jones, alongside Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.
The series is expected to return to Disney+ next March.
