10 Big Reveals You Missed In THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, LOKI, And WANDAVISION Trailers

New trailers for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision were released last Thursday, but did you catch these easy to miss details teasing the what's in store for each Disney+ series?

Feature Opinion
By HamiltonParker - Dec 14, 2020 08:12 AM EST

On Thursday, Disney unveiled a massive slate of films and television shows which will ensure the studio's dominance both in theaters and streaming for years to come.

When Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige arrived, it was clear some serious sh*t was about to go down, and he didn't disappoint. Among the many announcements and teases about the future were some trailers which instantly grabbed the attention of MCU fans across the globe.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision were among the biggest teasers shared during the Investor Day, and they revealed more than just some cool action scenes.

In fact, there were some big reveals in there, including a Kang the Conqueror tease and a first look at Madripoor, we're sure you missed, all of which tease the MCU's exciting future...

10. Loki: Meet Mobius M. Mobius

Exclusive-Clip-Loki-Disney-1-2-screenshot

Owen Wilson boasts a very different look than normal in the Loki trailer, and though his Time Variance Authority agent is never identified, closed captions for the sneak peek reveal him as Mobius M. Mobius.

In the comics, his job is to keep track of different timelines, determining whether they should be allowed to continue or not.

His history is a brief one, though he did once tangle with the Fantastic Four and was forced to arrest them for repeatedly interfering with the timeline through the use of Doctor Doom's time-travel technology. When Reed Richards pointed out that the Avengers and X-Men were guilty of similar crimes, Mobius briefly decided that their entire timeline should be eliminated.

On the surface, this version appears a little more heroic.

9. WandaVision: "Who's Doing This To You?"

WV11

The second trailer for WandaVision drops plenty more hints that something sinister is happening in the idyllic town of Westview, whether it's Agnes's sinister cackle, the tear running down one of the neighbor's cheek, or Monica Rambeau not knowing who she is.

However, our biggest hints about what's really going on comes near the end of the trailer.

Randall Park's Jimmy Woo can be heard saying over an old-timey radio, "Wanda? Can you hear me? Who's doing this to you?" It seems the Scarlet Witch isn't in control of her surroundings, and that she and the Vision are just as trapped as everyone else in this sitcom bubble.

It is, of course, entirely possible Wanda doesn't know what she's doing...

8. TFATWS: Flag Smashers

Exclusive-First-Look-The-Falcon-and-the-Winter-Soldier-Disney-0-26-screenshot

Baron Zemo isn't given much attention in the first trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and it's the Flag Smashers who instead appear to be causing problems for Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.

A single character in the comics, Flag Smasher has become Flag Smashers, with Solo: A Star Wars Story actress Erin Kellyman their leader. Her mask is adorned with the group's logo, and it looks like they are taking advantage of a world left in chaos after the Blip and Captain America's absence.

Later in the trailer, Falcon can even be seen battling an entire group atop a moving truck!

How and if they're tied to characters like Zemo and new Captain America, John Walker, isn't addressed in this new look at the Disney+ series.

7. Loki: Return To Stark Tower

Exclusive-Clip-Loki-Disney-1-37-screenshot

Loki's greatest failures are played out in front of him courtesy of the Time Variance Authority, and while it's only the events of The Avengers that we, the audience, are shown, it wouldn't shock us if Mobius is catching the God of Mischief up on what he missed after being plucked from the timeline Earth's Mightiest Heroes visited in Avengers: Endgame

The signs may be pointing to Loki travelling through history, but what takes him back to Stark Tower?

Standing in front of the mirror in Tony Stark's apartment, the villain says, "Glorious." That's an apparent throwback to a line from the 2012 film when he said, "I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose."

So, Loki returns to this time, but why? We're not sure yet.

6. TFATWS: Remembering Sokovia

Exclusive-First-Look-The-Falcon-and-the-Winter-Soldier-Disney-0-41-screenshot

Baron Zemo's role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is extremely secretive, and while it's likely he starts off looking to take his frustrations out on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, who's to say he doesn't embrace a slightly more heroic nature as time passes?

He's never been depicted as a truly evil person, and his motivations in Captain America: Civil War, while misguided, were understandable given everything he'd lost thanks to the Avengers.

Standing at this memorial paying his respects to his family after what happened to Sokovia in 2015, it's likely just moments later he's confronted by Bucky who denies him of his revenge and possibly even forgives him for what happened between the two men when they last met.

Perhaps this will be the start of Zemo's anti-hero turn as the leader of the Thunderbolts?

5. WandaVision: The Mind Stone Returns

WV

At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the Scarlet Witch was forced to use her powers to destroy the Mind Stone attached to the Vision's head. Thanos reversed time and tore it out, forcing the Avengers to steal it from HYDRA in 2012 during the Time Heist.

Captain America later returned that to its rightful place in history, but it's somehow returned.

Is this, no pun intended, a vision, or has Wanda somehow managed to recreate the Infinity Stone that gives the Vision life? Either possibility is likely, but there's every chance this will tie into the android's miraculous return; if the Mind Stone isn't real, though, then that won't bode well for this couple.

There are interesting parallels between this scene and the one in Avengers: Infinity War, though.

4. Loki: The Time-Keepers

Exclusive-Clip-Loki-Disney-1-38-screenshot

The TVA is either going to be a big part of future Marvel stories or specific to Loki, but given the connected nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be foolish to think this is it for them.

Avengers: Endgame likely put the MCU on their radar, and it could all tie into Kang the Conqueror's planned Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania debut as well. As the God of Mischief is brought in front of Gugu Mbatha-Raw's apparent leader of the TVA, she's shown in front of three ominous statues.

Those are the Time-Keepers, a trio that has quite the history with Kang.

In the MCU, there's a chance Kang was once one of them, but their statues are spotted during another part of the trailer, and so they're clearly the founders of the TVA.

3. Loki: Mephisto

Exclusive-Clip-Loki-Disney-1-57-screenshot

Loki is a series which appears to be full of surprises.

Along the way, we see what looks to be a new, Black Thor; there's a reference to Roxxon in the form of a Roxxcart supermarket; the God of Mischief disguises himself as D.B. Cooper and asks his brother and Heimdall to be ready for him. There's a lot to digest, to put it simply, but one possible Easter Egg caught our eye.

As Mobius and one of his Minutemen meet with a mysterious young boy in a church, a demonic figure can be seen overhead. It just so happens to look a lot like Mephisto.

Could the demon be Phase 4's big bad? If so, that ties WandaVision, Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and possibly even Spider-Man 3, together.

2. TFATWS: Madripoor

Exclusive-First-Look-The-Falcon-and-the-Winter-Soldier-Disney-0-37-screenshot

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's trailer feels like a typical teaser in the sense that it reveals very little about the plot of the series, instead focusing on character and action.

One moment that can't be overlooked, however, is our apparent first look at Madripoor.

Set photos have revealed that this biker gang bears the marking of Wolverine villain Ogun, a Madripoor native the mutant clashed with during his time spent on the fictional island. It's unlikely Logan will debut in this series, but there's no reason to suspect Patch won't get a mention.

The city looks amazing, and should be an exciting new addition to the MCU.

1. Loki: Loki For President

Exclusive-Clip-Loki-Disney-2-37-screenshot

Loki is no dummy. While he's no doubt forced to work for the TVA, he's bound to have a plan of his own as he looks to turn the situation to his advantage and come out the other side as the victor.

That apparently includes becoming President of whichever America he's residing on (unless he's hoping to become the new President of the Time Variance Authority). His allies don't look too supportive, so perhaps they's undercover TVA who only pretended to be on his side?

Whatever the case may be, this is a comic accurate look clearly included for fans.

It's been rumored that Loki is getting two seasons, so his story hopefully won't conclude with him being placed back in the original timeline and being killed by Thanos again.

The level of enthusiasm I have varies amongst all these shows...but I'm still gonna happily watch them all.

"It's been rumored that Loki is getting two seasons, so his story hopefully won't conclude with him being placed back in the original timeline and being killed by Thanos again."

Chances are he'll realize his original timeline is being destroyed. Endgame revealed that all non-core timelines end up just kinda ending. As such he'll be tasked with going to the events of Infinity War and swaps places with the Loki from the main timeline.

E.g. Disney+ Loki is the one who dies to Thanos while original Loki ends up escaping, cast across the universe or something setting up his return in Thor 5.

Something tells me that Madripoor came to be in the five years during The Snap.

A new city state that became a locale of lawlessness and corruption. The world tried to keep itself in check, but Madripoor represents a place for those who liked to take advantage of the world in ruin; housing for all kind of criminality in a wrecked world.

*When Reed Richards pointed out that the Avengers and X-Men were guilty of similar crimes,*

Reed ol snitching ass mane lol

I can’t wait until we start to get these shows. We don’t really know much about any of them but I’d like to see the quality of them

Another Plot hint was Falcon saying the shield has a complicated history. I think that’s a hint at what’s to come with Bradley being rumored to be in this

@MyCoolYoung - I think we are definitely going to see the US Army's first attempt to recreate the serum here.

@BlackBeltJones - definitely, if not it’s a missed opportunity. I think it’ll be somewhat bold and timely for them to explore the exploitation and experimentation on black bodies.

Just a great juxtaposition of black people being involuntarily being experimented on whereas Steve(white people) were given the option and respect to sign up themselves

@MyCoolYoung - I thought the had cast Isaiah Bradly, no?

@KnifeWasTooSlow - rumored. I can’t remember if the trades confirmed him as Isaiah but you know marvel hasn’t been confirming casting and if they aren’t showing him, odds are they won’t

These Marvel Disney+ shows especially The Falcon And The Winter Soldier are actually looking much better than the MCU movies which after phase 1 I haven't really liked many of them. The stories for these shows look better as well as the action and there looks to be a lot less comedy one of the things I hate about the MCU movies, story and depth wise these more likely won't compare to the Marvel Netflix shows but look tobe just as good as those.

I just love how many rich and interesting locations there are in the MCU. Truly feels like a full universe.

Asgard, Wakanda, the place in Doctor Strange (blanking on the name), all the various planets, different dimensions and multiverses, the Quantum Realm, NYC, soon Madripoor.

And hopefully places like Atlantis, Kun Lun, Chronopolis, the Savage Lands, etc. on the horizon. Can’t [frick]ing wait!

Even the people doing video break-downs of the trailer are skipping over Sparky in the WandaVision trailer. Kevin Feige suggested we’d see a version of him last year.

Sadly, I doubt he’s a synthezoid dog, but one can hope.

Also, that stained-glass window doesn’t look anything like Mephisto’s traditional design, aside from having red skin. And that “young boy” is wearing a dress.

There's a shot on Loki's trailer where behind him there's a totally devasted city landscape (post-apocaliptic look). It's New York and you can see the ruins of the Avengers Tower in the back

Didn't miss the mind stone or Loki for President.

But yeah I missed some of the others.
