THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: [SPOILER] Reveals How They Were Snuck Onto Set By Marvel Studios

We were promised a big cameo in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's fifth episode, and while it might not have been as major as some fans hoped, it was still pretty damn cool.

Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus was cast, in secret, to play Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a character from the comic books who has ties to S.H.I.E.L.D, HYDRA, and Leviathan. Her plans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remain unclear for now, but she's a powerful woman, and a character many fans are convinced will ultimately assemble either the Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers.

Now, Dreyfus has taken to Twitter to reveal how Marvel Studios kept her presence in the Disney+ series a secret. A black cloak was involved, which would explain why she was never spotted by the paparazzi. "Val" returned in the finale, and is clearly plotting something major for U.S. Agent.

In our review of Friday's episode, we concluded by saying, "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's finale ushers in a bold new era of storytelling for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an episode that sees Anthony Mackie firmly establish himself as the deserving new face of this shared world."
