As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Hawkeye, recently announced co-stars Vera Farmiga (The Departed; Up in the Air) and Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul; Sense8) were both spotted on set shooting a tense scene with series leads Jeremy Renner (Captain America: Civil War; Avengers: Endgame) and Hailee Steinfeld (Dickinson; Bumblebee) while everyone was dressed to the nines.
Farmiga is playing Kate's (Steinfeld) mother Eleanor Bishop, while Dalton will be portraying Jack Duquesne, a.k.a. the Swordsman. While unconfirmed, it appears as though the pair may be romantically involved, likely much to the chagrin of Eleanor's bow-wielding daughter.
Then, yesterday, as Steinfeld celebrated her 24th birthday, the Academy Award-nominated actress - or her stunt double - was seen performing quite the high-flying stunt, scaling a building, in her full Hawkeye costume. However, the scene doesn't end all that well for Bishop as she takes what appears to be a big fall. We also get a few cool shots of Steinfeld striking a hero landing pose.
The supporting cast will also include Florence Pugh (Black Widow; Little Women) as Yelena Belova, Fra Fee (Cinderella; Les Misérables) as Kazi, Zahn McClarnon (Westworld; Doctor Sleep) as William Lopez, Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight; X-Men: Dark Phoenix) in an undisclosed role, and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo.
Ava Russo, Ben Sakamoto, and Cade Woodward are also slated to appear as Clint Barton's children Lila, Cooper, and Nathaniel, respectively. However, there's no word yet on whether Linda Cardellini (Avengers: Endgame; Avengers: Age of Ultron) will also appear as Barton's wife Laura, although it's probably not a stretch to presume she will, assuming there are no scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series Dead to Me.
Jonathan Igla (Mad Men; Sorry for Your Loss) is serving as showrunner, with Rhys Thomas (Staten Island Summer; Saturday Night Live) and the filmmaking duo Bert and Bertie (Troop Zero; The Great) serving as directors on the eight-episode series.
