Marvel's Jessica Jones is currently streaming on Netflix and is enjoying favorable reviews from the fan community. The series also introduced Luke Cage to viewers, who is set to receive his own series some time later this year. With 3 of the 4 Defenders already introduced, fans were becoming worried about the status of Iron Fist, as there's been no casting or creative teams announced. However, Marvel Head of TV Jeph Loeb says that the plan was always to focus on Jessica Jones and keep attention there, meaning there was never going to be any Iron Fist announcements until Jessica Jones was out.
"There was a lot of speculation about what was going on with "Iron Fist," because [fans] hadn't heard anything about it, but there's never been any change at all. We knew exactly what we were doing at Marvel and at Netflix. Let's get "Jess" out there, everybody knows that "Luke Cage" is up and going. What I can say right now is, we're very excited about "Iron Fist," and the short answer is, yes there'll be news."
