JESSICA JONES Season 2 Adds Oscar Nominated DAMAGES Actress Janet McTeer In A "Major Mysterious Role"
The second season of Marvel & Netflix's Jessica Jones recently commenced production in New York City, and we have our first major casting announcement for the show's sophomore outing.
The currently shooting second season Marvel and Netflix's Jessica Jones has added two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Janet McTeer (The White Queen, The Woman in Black, Damages) as a mysterious character who will "have an enormous impact on Jessica’s life."
Entertainment Weekly broke the news, but provides no additional details on who McTeer will be playing.
“We are so fortunate to have an actress of Janet’s talent and stature join what is already an incredible cast,” said Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb. “Our second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones aims to capture what audiences loved about our first, and Janet will be key to achieving that goal.”
No official premiere date for season 2 of Jessica Jones has been set, but we do know it'll once again for 13 episodes, and that series creator Melissa Rosenberg plans to hire all-female directors.
