Krysten Ritter recently fuelled speculation that she might be set to reprise the role of Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again by sharing a gym selfie while sporting a Man Without Fear t-shirt, and a new rumor is now claiming that the actress will make the jump to the MCU for more than just that upcoming Disney+ series.
According to insider @MyTimeToShineH, Miss Jones will indeed appear in Born Again, but is also being lined up for other projects. They don't specify which ones, but if the plan is for Ritter to make her MCU debut before the new Daredevil show, we'd say Echo is a definite possibility.
The scooper also reckons The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal, presumably) will show up in Born Again, but notes that there are no current plans for either Luke Cage or Iron Fist.
We wouldn't put too much stock in this until we know more about the show, but based on previous reports, we'd say Ritter's return as the hard-drinking PI is a pretty safe bet at this stage.
The additions of Jones and Frank Castle to Born Again may seem like a lot to pack in to a series that needs to bring us up to speed on the feud between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), but remember, the show is set to run for 18 episodes, so there is time to fully develop several different plot threads.
Ritter played Jessica Jones across three seasons of the now defunct Netflix series, and also joined Daredevil, Cage and Iron Fist in The Defenders. The show was arguably the most violent and sexually explicit of the Netflix Marvel projects.
