Loki hits Disney+ this June, and a newly revealed piece of promo art for the show teases the God of Mischief's plans to run for President (of what we're not sure, though it could be that he looks to make the TVA his own).

This is a moment that was highlighted in the trailers, of course, while the image below is one that should be familiar to comic book fans.

A recently released synopsis for Loki revealed that the villain will be "forced to answer for his crimes against the timeline and given a choice: face deletion from reality or assist in catching an even greater threat."

We still don't know what that greater threat is, but alternate versions of Loki seem likely.

In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 11th, 2021.

Check out the new promo art for the series below:

Really liked WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but I have a feeling Loki will be something special. It looks different and weird (in a good way).

They’re cherry picking closer and closer to current comics.

@IKidYouNotMan - I feel like the comics for the last 15 years have been little more than a brainstorming session for future movies anyway.

@Spock0Clock - got the same feeling. Most major stories that are adapted are serve as inspiration for movies come from the 2000s

IKidYouNotMan - didn’t Feige get put in charge of both not too long ago?

The comic was kind of just spoofing the absurd idea (at the time) that Donald Trump was running for president. Seems like a weird thing to adapt now.

@Hawkguy - Well, now it's not just a joke, but grim reality. So there's at least more material to reference.

Loki looks really good from the trailer,I would even say better than both WandaVision and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

He has to be the most overhyped part of the MCU.
