As we head deeper into Marvel Studios' Phase 4, heaps of new characters continue to be introduced, and as a result, the MCU is bigger and more varied than ever before. First up in 2022 is Marc Spector in Moon Knight, a Disney+ show that's been described as a "limited series" by Oscar Isaac.
However, during an interview with IGN, co-star Ethan Hawke (who plays the mysterious Arthur Harrow) suggested there's a chance Moon Knight is more of an opening chapter than a standalone story.
"The good news is that it’s possibly both. It lives and breathes on its own merits, it functions as a limited series," the actor explained, "and if people are engaged and excited by it then it could be the origin story of a larger thing." It is hard to believe that Moon Knight will be a one-off, though there are lots of other places we could see the vigilante before he gets a second season or movie.
Remember, the character debuted in the pages of Werewolf by Night, and with that character set to take centre stage in a Halloween special (possibly as soon as this year), we wouldn't be at all surprised if Marc Spector made a cameo appearance. Beyond that, there's a very good chance Marvel Studios could be setting the stage for some sort of Midnight Sons team-up down the line.
Telling stories on television as well as in theaters has certainly opened the door to a lot of exciting possibilities, anyway, and if those first four episodes were any indication, we're definitely excited to see more from Moon Knight in the MCU moving forward (check back here next week for our review).
