MS. MARVEL Promo Art Confirms MCU's Kamala Khan Won't Have Her Comic Book Embiggening Powers

There have been rumblings for a while now that the MCU's Ms. Marvel won't have her classic embiggening powers from the comic books, and that's been confirmed via new promo art for the Disney+ TV series...

Inhumans don't exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so short of Black Bolt and company showing up in Ms. Marvel, it's been obvious for a while now that Kamala Khan would undergo some alterations, and it now appears these changes will primarily revolve around the source of the teenager's powers.

As you can see in the official promo art below, Ms. Marvel will "embiggen" herself through Green Lantern-style artificial constructs. We're guessing these are powered by the Nega-Bands, and it's easy enough to understand why some fans are disappointed by this creative decision.

As the Marvel's Avengers video game proved, Kamala's ability to change her body can lead to some amazing, often crazy visuals, and that being the result of an energy field doesn't exactly have the same effect. There's no reason to suspect it won't work within the context of the Disney+ series, of course, but this is still a major departure from the source material.

We've yet to see these new embiggening powers in action, and it's possible they'll look really cool (even here, it seems like a neat design). However, we can't help but worry that Kamala is just going to be a regular kid now who has been fortunate enough to stumble across some alien tech...a little like Hal Jordan and that ring of his!

On the plus side, it's probably this discovery that puts Kamala on Captain Marvel and Spectrum's radar.

Ms. Marvel is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.

People overreacting to this was doing my head in last night lmao.

Haven't seen her in action and the actual creator of Khan working hand in hand with the team. I am optimistic with what they do.

@Menks123 - I'd be willing to bet that there's a large cross-section of people who are very upset about this change with people who said "nobody asked for this show" 🤔

Makes sense. Reed is coming to the MCU too somewhere and in the coming five years and it's for the better take as much distance from the Inhumans as possible

This legit pisses me off and I'm not a big ms marvel fan like that. Are they doing because reed is soon joining the MCU? Or for budget reasons?

Why even bring her into the MCU if you gonna do her like that🙎?

@AmazingFILMporg - She basically has the same power of swinging giant versions of her limbs, it's just similar to Green Lantern's constructs instead of some goofy looking body horror

@AmazingFILMporg - probably budget reasons and the fact they haven’t been able to get elastic powers right in live-action on the big screen yet, let alone the small screen.
