Secret Invasion is a show that's understandably been shrouded in secrecy since it was first announced, and while set photos have dropped a few intriguing hints, Marvel Studios has revealed very little! An insanely talented cast has been assembled, though, including Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and MCU newcomers Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Emilia Clarke, among others.
However, another addition has been added to the Disney+ series. Talking to Josh Horowitz during a recent Q&A, Jackson confirmed that Martin Freeman is also in Secret Invasion.
He first played CIA agent Everett K. Ross in 2016's Captain America Civil War and later appeared as a supporting character in Black Panther. Set photos have confirmed he'll be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, though with grey hair and a beard (possibly suggesting he wasn't among those wiped out of existence by Thanos for five years in Avengers: Infinity War).
We fully expect Secret Invasion to reveal that a few familiar faces in the MCU are secretly shape-shifting Skrulls, and depending on his behaviour in the Black Panther sequel, we wouldn't be shocked if Ross is among them. For now, we'll just have to wait and see how this story plays out.
Secret Invasion is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
