In Avengers: Endgame, The Hulk used the Infinity Gauntlet to bring back the half of the universe wiped out by Thanos five years earlier. This left his arm badly scarred, and all signs pointed to the Jade Giant being a shell of his former self moving forward.
By the time Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings rolled around, The Hulk had returned to his Bruce Banner form, but still had his arm in a sling. However, promotional material for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has shown the hero looking like his old self, so exactly how did Smart Hulk become whole again?
For starters, it's revealed in today's premiere that Bruce has created a device that's allowed him to return to being human. It is just a prototype, though, and after the accident that leads to Jennifer Walters becoming She-Hulk, he's back to being Smart Hulk.
Explaining that he and Jen are both able to synthesise Gamma radiation, the Green Goliath has used She-Hulk's unique DNA to heal himself. With that, he's back to being his old self, and no longer has a damaged arm. Marvel Studios moved beyond The Hulk's predicament pretty quickly, and the Avenger clearly won't be getting a Winter Soldier-style arm anytime soon!
The Hulk played a big role in today's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiere, though we anticipate him being sidelined moving forward so the spotlight can be put on Jen.
"A verdict has been reached on She-Hulk, and it’s a mighty Marvel masterpiece!" we said in our review of the Disney+ series. "Tatiana Maslany is sensational as the lawyer-turned-superhero, while the show’s quirky, offbeat tone perfectly encapsulates the weirder side of the MCU in a way you’ve never seen before."
