SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Star Tatiana Maslany On What She Found Most Relatable About Jennifer Walters

Since Jennifer Walters is better equipped than most to handle becoming a gamma-infused superhero, we asked She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany what she found most relatable about the character.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is nearly here, which means we're just a little over a day away from Primetime Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black; Perry Mason) finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as lawyer-turned-superhero Jennifer Walters.

During the global press conference for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, we asked Maslany what aspect of Jennifer Walters she found most relatable, and what it was about this particular project that inspired her to come aboard the highly ambitious and wholly unique entry to the MCU.

While Walters is better equipped than most to accept her new superhero lifestyle since she's already a well-established lawyer and has her famous cousin Smart Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) on speed dial, Maslany found something else more interesting about this larger-than-life role.

"It was actually her conflict with it that I found most interesting, was like her resistance to it and her kind of like she's built this life for herself that she does not wanna let go of, she's worked so hard to be a lawyer and she has to constantly prove herself," she explains. "So, she's in this path, and then when this thing happens to her, she has to contend with a whole other perception being placed on top of her and expectations societally of like how she should be and who she should be.

And so to navigate those two versions, like you were talking about, like the outside perception of her, that to me was super interesting and that’s why I was like... And honestly, when I read the pilot, I want so badly to audition for this 'cause it's so funny and it's so like mundane and like small, you know, in a way that I've always dreamed of watching a superhero show that had that like the between moments, the moments where you're like, you know, checking your phone, whatever, like that to me is engaging cinema, like that I like."
