COWBOY BEBOP: The Crew Is Ready For Action On New Poster For Netflix's Anime Adaptation

With the premiere of Cowboy Bebop now just two weeks away, Netflix has debuted a cool new poster for the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the classic anime.

The artwork features series leads John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine looking more than ready to take down some bounties.

The recent trailer (which you'll also find below) did a great job of recapturing the vibe of the fan-favorite anime, as we saw Spike bid farewell to his old life as a member of the Red Dragon crime syndicate to begin his new career as a bounty hunter (or, cowboy) alongside his new partners and Ein the data dog.

"Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka cowboys, all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them."

We recently learned that anime composer Yoka Kano, who has worked on the likes of Vision of Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Turn A Gundam, Macross Plus, and more, created the soundtrack.

Cowboy Bebop is exec produced and written by Christopher Yost (Thor), who also serves as showrunner along with Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio; Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios; Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc. Watanabe is on board as a consultant.

I'm just now going through the anime before the Netflix show, and I should have done so way earlier. I love 90s anime and thi show just has so much style.
I hope it carries over to the Netflix adaptation, although I'm not expecting much.

@Fares - The Cowboy Bebop anime is legit top tier. It's taking everything I've got not to sink into rewatching it on Netflix right now

@OmegaDaGrodd - It sure feels like it so far. I enjoy the adventure of the week episodes, but I'm mostly intrigued to learn more about Spike's backstory, his connection to vicious and those flashbacks to the blond woman and the rose. I should dive in to a few more episodes later and see if they offer more insight into it.

@OmegaDaGrodd - If this does well...I wanna see Netflix do Samurai Champloo next.

Hope it’s good but given Hollywood’s track record with adapting anime, I have a really bad feeling about this.
