What exactly is a kugelblitz? We're not sure, but it sounds even worse than an apocalypse! Netflix has finally debuted the first trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 3, and it was worth the wait!

After a series of character banners and some brief promos, Netflix has finally released a full trailer for the third season of The Umbrella Academy, which is set to hit the streamer on June 22. Thankfully, this wild, funny, action-packed teaser was worth the wait!

The trailer picks up where we left things in the season 2 finale, with our dysfunctional superhero family coming face-to-face with their alternate reality counterparts, The Sparrow Academy. Five explains that their reckless time/reality-hopping escapades have caused a time paradox, which in turn brought forth something called a kugelblitz.

From what we can gather, this means we should expect to meet multiple versions of our main characters this season.

There's a lot going on here, but one thing seems certain: both teams are heading for a showdown, and while the Sparrows might be dickheads, they are "dickheads who can fight."

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster, and let us know what you think.

The season 2 finale of The Umbrella Academy (you can check out our review here) saw the gang successfully save the world (again) from Armageddon, but when they returned to their own timeline, they found themselves in an alternate reality with the Sparrows seemingly led by the now very much alive Ben Hargreeves.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, with main cast members Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all confirmed to return. Steve Blackman is also back on board as showrunner.

Check out the updated synopsis below.

After putting a stop to 1963's doomsday, the Umbrella Academy return home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren't exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone's concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad's new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?

Was kinda hoping that Five for once didn't have all the answers, but looks like he again immediately has a grip on whatever situation they are in.

Still, this looks fun. Not impressive, but I'll get around to watching it eventually.

I was looking forward this, but the trailer didn't excite me.

It's just adding to my belief that we're so spoiled with top quality content these days that even the good stuff doesn't seem special anymore. Hopefully I'm wrong and I have a good weekend with this when it comes out.

I lost interest in this series for some time but that just reminded me how much I loved the first two seasons. Can't wait now.

I am def excited for this. Loving that clip of them talking about what they would do to their alternate selves. Klaus def knows most of us wanna climb Luther mountain and even the Klaus hills. I hope the final season leads to them allowing the world to finally end realizing it's an absolute event. I'm also looking forward to how they'll tackle Elliot's transition. I can't wait!
