ANDOR Action Figure Reveals An Intriguing New Droid Who Will Join Cassian In The ROGUE ONE Prequel

Aside from a brief teaser, very little has been revealed about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series Andor. Now, though, a new action figure shows a possible droid sidekick for Cassian Andor...

Andor is right around the corner, and we now have a first look at an upcoming Star Wars: The Black Series action figure from Hasbro (via SFFGazette.com).

As you can see, this San Diego Comic-Con exclusive boasts a very realistic take on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, though the Rebel hero is joined by a new droid companion. Named B2EMO, it certainly looks pretty unique, and is likely a sidekick of sorts to Andor throughout this first batch of episodes.

We know those will be set five years prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and it's possible this alliance is going to set the stage for Cassian's eventual friendship with Alan Tudyk's straight-talking reprogrammed Imperial droid, K-2SO.

"We don’t have Alan Tudyk," showrunner Tony Gilroy recently confirmed while discussing Andor's first 12 episodes. "Not yet, anyway." Despite that, he suggested this is a plot point we'll see play out when the show returns. "It is a second season, but it’s really, for me, the second half of the novel. This first season is about him becoming a revolutionary, and the second 12 episodes take him into Rogue One."

We're definitely intrigued by where Andor is taking us, particularly with such a unique structure. As for this droid, we hope to have more details to share with you in the coming weeks (with Obi-Wan Kenobi now in the rearview, you have to believe a new trailer for the show is imminent).

Andor will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The show premieres on Disney+ on August 31.

This is on my list of things I never thought about or cared to know. I would’ve rather got a Jar Jar prequel explaining how he got banished from the Gungan city.

Ok, disney just gave us the most thoughtless attempt of a series in the form of kenobi. Why tf is the f@#$ing andor show given so much planning to the point all 2 seasons are planned out with this leading directly into rogue one? Is it the fact Kennedy has no real faith in this so she's just letting the writers go wild while she focuses on group testing the shows people actually care about?

...OK that's probably it.

so they plan on multiple seasons? he'll look old before he looks young and dies young in rogue one.

@micvalpro - Obi-Wan still looks way too young in his show, when compared to how he ends up looking in A New Hope.

And speaking of that show, Anakin sure looked way older too than his chronologically next appearance.

@bkmeijer1 - Obiwan looks old for only 10 years to have past. Hayden does look old for his age. im the same age and I look 10 years younger.

I like that they have the entire story planned out with this show. That's pretty much a first for Disney and Star Wars, so part of why I'm excited for this.

They better bring in K-2SO in the second season though, otherwise my excitement drops again.

Apparently the only notes Disney took from Lucas was that R2D2's a cute funny little robot. So they decided to do that with EVERY STAR WARS MOVIE AND TV SHOW THEY MAKE.
