ANDOR: Alan Tudyk Says He Won't Be Returning As ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY's K-2SO In The Disney+ Series

Despite the fact Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy previously confirmed that Alan Tudyk would return in Andor, the actor has now revealed that he won't be part of the Disney+ series as K-2SO...

Way back in April 2019, it was confirmed at Star Wars Celebration that Andor would star Diego Luna as Cassian Andor (obviously), and Alan Tudyk as K-2SO. That was to be expected, of course, especially as how they met should definitely be part of any story dealing with Andor's life before he crossed paths with Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The series has changed a lot since then; at the time, The Americans showrunner Stephen Schiff was set to take charge of Andor, but Tony Gilroy (who essentially took over, and finished, Rogue One for original director Gareth Edwards) was later tasked with running the show. He's still serving as showrunner, but Black Mirror's Toby Haynes has taken his place as director.

This might explain why, during a recent interview with Collider, Tudyk revealed that he's not set to take on the role of fan-favourite droid K-2SO in the Disney+ series that's currently shooting.

"They're shooting it right now, I'm not in it," he confirmed. "But, if it stays on the air, stories keep getting told, I'll end up in there." There's no reason for Tudyk to lie about this, so it seems that the first season of Andor won't be tackling Cassian's first meeting with K-2SO. Then again, it does make sense to save that for a season two to give fans something to look forward to.

What we do know is that Andor stars Adria Arjona, Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. It's currently set to premiere at some point next year.

Are you still excited for Andor
