Pedro Pascal and Ewan McGregor took part in a virtual chat for Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, and while the latter was there to discuss his new Netflix drama Halston, talk inevitably turned to the now shooting Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.

Pascal, who revealed that season 3 of The Mandalorian has not started shooting yet (before almost giving something away), asked the Scottish actor about returning to the role after so many years and their shared experience of getting to visit the galaxy far, far away. McGregor, careful not to say too much, spoke about filming a scene with some Stormtroopers and realizing that he "never acted with a Stormtrooper because mine were clones, you know?"

"Insane. I was feeling like I was 6 again or something, because I’m so close to one and I got a fright, you know? So crazy. Then I asked someone, “Were there Stormtroopers in my films? Because I don’t think I’ve seen a Stormtrooper for real before.” They were like “No, they weren’t Stormtroopers; they were clones.” And Jawas, I had another scene with a little Jawa."

Utinni! No internet-shattering reveals here, but it's nice to know we'll be seeing the little hooded blighters again, and that the Empire will factor into the story.

Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know that Obi-Wan will be set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, and that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader for a confrontation with his old master. There are also rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.

McGregor joins Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Their characters have not been announced.

The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm all episodes of the series, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on board as producer along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

Probably the Sand People. They always come back, and in greater numbers.

OT: Has anyone read today's X-Men? There was a huge cameo from a certain producer and studio president.

I'm sure that he will be delighted to meet another face that he has never met before. Not in that face at least.

The transition period going from the Republic to Empire has been a blast to visit so far in Bad Batch. There's something so soulless about the Empire's control over everything that has always been interesting.

I hope we get an arc in this show seeing the sandtroopers take over and disintegrate local Empire deniers like they did Aunt Beru and Uncle Lars. Would be a likely conflict for Obi-Wan to tackle during this time as well

@JFerguson - ''disintegrate local Empire deniers''

Well, Star Wars has always been about politics I guess.

I'm guessing that when McGregor thinks back to his set experience, he only remembers one big blue room. Don't think the clones were even practical.

The prequels will have a special place in my blackened heart, watching those in the theater was quite the glorious experience. Say what you want about episode 2, but when Yoda pulled out his Lightsaber.. the while theater erupted like a world cup final. The sequels never had an amazing moment like that, I'm so hyped for this. I blame Kennedy and Iger for not planning out the entire trilogy, or at least USE THE SCRIPTS GEORGE GAVE YOU. They might have sucked, but Disney would have made more money than they did with this trilogy, and that's all they really care about anyways. F em, Filoni for president
