For whatever reason, many Star Wars "fans" have decided to target Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram since the show's launch on Disney+. This has led to the actor receiving a great deal of racist abuse online, prompting both Lucasfilm and Ewan McGregor to condemn those who have decided to express their apparent dislike for her character, Reva, through such heinous means,
Talking to Entertainment Tonight (via SFFGazette.com) about his return as Darth Vader, Hayden Christensen similarly shared his disdain for those who have targeted Ingram based on her race.
"I’ve heard a little bit about that and, obviously, it really saddens me," the actor explained. "I think the world of Moses. She’s not only a lovely person and human being, but an incredibly talented actress."
"The first time I saw the first couple of episodes, I was blown away by her performance and just thought that the subtleties and nuances that she brought to this character were there and really impressive. So, I mean, I hope by the end of the series, people are coming around."
"I think she’s done a great job and I think [Reva] is an important character and people will come to realize that," Christensen concluded, no stranger himself to being the target of harassment from those who take their dislike of a fictional character a step too far.
Reva has proven herself to be a very important part of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and with only two episodes left, we're expecting her to continue to play a crucial role in the series. There's clearly more to the Sith Inquisitor than meets the eye, anyway, and Ingram's part in this Galaxy Far, Far Away is just something those racist "fans" will have to deal with.
