THE MANDALORIAN Gives Bo-Katan Kryze A New Mission As She Undergoes Another Major Status Quo Change - SPOILERS

In The Mandalorian's latest episode, Bo-Katan Kryze was given a new mission by The Armorer that could lead to a major status quo shift for both the former leader of Mandalore and Din Djarin's covert...

"It is time to retake Mandalore."

For those of you who have argued that The Mandalorian has delivered "filler" episodes lately, it's fair to say yesterday's effort was a welcomed improvement, right?

While it definitely feels like the series is including a lot of content once meant for the now-cancelled Rangers of the New Republic spin-off, that's proving to be far from a bad thing. In "The Pirate," Nevarro is attacked by the Pirate King Gorian Shard, prompting Greef Karga to plead with the New Republic for help.

Unfortunately, they decline (find out more about that by clicking here), but Din Djarin learns of what is happening and, with some help from Paz Vizsla, rallies his fellow Mandalorians to help rescue the planet.

He mentions that Karga offered him land there and suggests the covert can finally come out of hiding and live openly, restoring their Mandalorian culture and allowing the foundlings to live and play in the light.

With that, Din and Bo-Katan Kryze lead the charge and help stave off the invaders. While Vane flees when it becomes clear the battle is lost, Shard goes down with his ship, debunking popular fan theories and rumours that he will be Skeleton Crew's main villain (Vane, on the other hand, is definitely someone we expect to see again down the line).

Once the fight is over, Karga welcomes the Mandalorians to his planet and offers them a huge piece of land where they can settle, allowing them to call his planet home.

The Armorer - who reveals that she worked on Mandalore prior to its destruction - summons Bo-Katan to the forge she worked from in the show's first season and demands that she remove her helmet. Explaining that Bo-Katan seeing the Mythosaur is a sign the "next age" is upon them, she tasks the former leader of Mandalore with finding more exiled Mandalorians.

After being part of both worlds, Bo-Katan is who The Armorer believes can unite them. It does, however, sound like she expects the Mandalorians who return to them to also walk "The Way," so how they'll feel about keeping their helmets on...well, that remains to be seen.

We also can't help but wonder whether Bo-Katan is going to need the Darksaber to win them over...

Another action heavy episode which was a treat on the eyes, but i feel this series is more focused on setting up other characters for potential spin offs rather than Following Din's journey, there's no real arc to this season, just a bunch of b plots.

As far as production value, it's really shows they took time in between season 2 and 3 to really expand the scope though. Nit picks aside, it's still doing a better job of live action Star wars than the cinematic sequel trilogy did.

Great to see Zeb in live action aswell, but no doubt he's coming back in the Ashoka series.

@UniqNo - I doubt they have a spin off in mind for Bo, this show is called mandolorian so I don’t see why her whole story can’t be told here. Last time Din was interesting was season 1. He’s pretty much been in boring dad mode since than.

@Taonrey - Who knows, stranger things have happened to be honest. They'll probably end up titling season 4 "The MandalorianS if it doesn't brach out further than the other stuff that's already slated to come out.

@Taonrey - Also, Bo's arc could very well lead into the Ashoska show as we know there's been some interaction with those characters before. Seem's like Ashoka is setting up to be basically the live action sequel to the Clone Wars and Rebels shows that Filoni was doing.

@UniqNo - they handicapped Din when they brought back Grogu , he’s is stuck in this boring character arc for probably the rest of the shows life. It’s wild to be they don’t have a end in mind but somehow also don’t have a story arc for Din lol.

Grogu himself is a waste of screen time since he ages to slow for their to be stories outside of being kidnapped.

@UniqNo - I meant more that I see Bo sticking to this show instead of getting her own, of course this storyline is also leading into Ashoka but I doubt Bo will be in that much.

@Taonrey - Yeah i think Disney pushed as they realised they needed the cute kid (who's older than most of the character's lol) to keep selling toys and merch.

Him coming back so quick (in someone else's show) totally undercuts the emotional point of the season 2 finale.

Yeah, i get your point, but i'm just saying they seem focused on setting up all the other characters arcs rather than continueing something meaningful for Din. I bet we don't even see Pedro's face this season and he totally phoned it in haha. I guess it keeps production cost down as this is the same for most of the Manalorian characters.

@UniqNo - think they just don’t know what to do with him, Bo came in with the most interesting arc. Mostly because they spent majority of their time making Din attached to the hip of Grogu.

Shit Paz barely talks and I’m more invested in him than Din. Don’t get me started on Gideon being the big bad again lol like that’s just hilarious at this point. They took away his only other character attribute which was being a bounty hunter.

@UniqNo - I partially agree, I think it's basically just becoming something GREATER than JUST Mando and Grogu....

@UniqNo -
Din Djarin is like the Man with No Name. He's a catalyst, not the main mover of events.

Why no one mentioned the last revelation about A MANDALORIAN seemingly saving Moff Gideon? Most likely it's The Armorer that's involved; though that'd be QUITE expected and it'd be a better surprise if it's someone else...

@Starlight -
Don't think it's the Armorer. I have two theories.

1. It's some of Bo Katan's old cohorts who did the job as mercinaries

2. It's actually a ploy by The Moff to pit the New Republic against the Mandalorians.

Of the two I would bet good money on #2 but they are both imminently plausible.

@Goldboink - I like those theories.
