THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Ming-Na Wen Shares An Optimistic Update On Lucasfilm's Season 2 Plans THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Ming-Na Wen Shares An Optimistic Update On Lucasfilm's Season 2 Plans

There's been no official word on Lucasfilm's plans for The Book of Boba Fett season 2, but star Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) seems hopeful she'll get to return to this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The Book of Boba Fett didn't quite manage to blow Star Wars fans away, and that was mostly down to some baffling creative decisions. A lot of time in the Bacta Tank, a watered-down take on the bounty hunter, and that biker gang were all contributing factors, though there was still fun to be had with the series (primarily when it basically became The Mandalorian season 2.5).

With Timothy Olyphant's Cobb Vanth clearly set to become one of Fett's allies as he continues attempting to enforce his rule over Tatooine, there are surely more stories to be told. With any luck, that will lead to a somewhat more badass portrayal of Fett, though Lucasfilm has yet to share any official news on future plans.

Talking at Fan Expo Boston this past weekend (via SFFGazette.com), The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett star Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec Shand in the series, shared a possible update on season 2 plans.

"Second season of The Book of Boba Fett...I hope [so]!" she told fans. "I never count my chickens before they hatch, because in this business, you just never know. But, knock on wood, they’ll be announcing that soon."

"Soon" could be next month's Disney+ Day, though it was surprising that Lucasfilm made no mention of The Book of Boba Fett at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. Viewership for the series was believed to be good, but it doesn't appear as if the studio is necessarily in any rush to return to this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Wen certainly sounds positive, though, so we'd like to think that news is coming about the show's future in the next few weeks.

@Waddles - not to mention when they were rolling into town on bikes that looked like they were from a Sci fi remake of grease.

I think they could look at what didn't work in season 1 and build on what did. I think Boba shouldn't remain on one planet. Also bring back Old Man Mace for it.

@WowMuchComicBoo - At least not Tatooine. What a boring planet. What else could really happen there? More space mafia wars?

@GhostDog - Hopefully it being on Disney+ instead of Netflix will bring it the right attention it needs for some long overdue nominations.

Start with his organization being wiped out by Crimson Dawn and give us the bad ass Fett we got in Mandalorian on a revenge mission

Also dont turn the second half into Mandalorian season 3.5

Doing that improved the show but it was all stuff that should have happened in mandalorian meaning you need to watch fett to get the full mandalorian story

@Waddles - should have at least gotten 1 season of Mando on his own

End season 3 with Mando visiting him to deliver the armor

Have them reunite early season 4

BoBF was fine, but would have been a lot easier to swallow if the cinematography was good. Disney hasn't put the same level of effort into it's shows since Mando S1 and WV/Loki, imo. Mando S2 was aiet as well, I guess.

I hope they do but with new writers. Also keep Robert Rodriguez far away, he simply is not a good fit for star wars. The episodes he directed were far and away the worst.

Not that bothered if they make a season 2,it wasn't really a Boba Fett show,He removed his helmet and he talked too much. I've seen enough of the moped morons as well. The only good episodes featured The Mandalorion.

I d rather she just get her own project. She outshined Fett in badassery on his own show.

I enjoyed the first season for what it was, and wouldn't mind a second one.

Just wish they do two things that they already should've done in S1: tell it chronologically, and have Boba do more than just walk or stand around and immediately agree to the plans others come up with right after he already presented his.
