THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Temuera Morrison Confirms That "Slave 1" Will Be Renamed For The Show

Lucasfilm decided to drop the name "Slave 1" last year, and The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has now confirmed that Fett's iconic starship has been renamed for the Disney+ series.

For reasons that should be fairly obvious, Lucasfilm decided to change the name of Boba Fett's starship last year, announcing that the bounty hunter's iconic mode of transportation would no longer be known as Slave 1. Now, The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has confirmed that his character's ship will have a new name on the show.

We haven't actually seen the former Slave 1 in the Disney+ series outside of flashbacks, but it is expected to factor into the story over the course of the final three episodes, and Morrison has revealed that it will be known as the Firespray Gunship.

As many Star Wars fans will be aware, the ship is actually a "Firespray" class vessel, so Lucasfilm weren't particularly imaginative when it came to renaming Slave 1!

The name change is not a huge deal (obviously), but some fans inevitably kicked up a fuss, and there's been renewed backlash on social media since this interview segment began doing the rounds online.

What do you guys make of the decision to rename Slave 1? Have you been enjoying The Book of Boba Fett so far? Let us know in the usual place.
