Last week's episode of The Book of Boba Fett teased "The Return of The Mandalorian," and Chapter 5 wasted no time at all in reacquainting us with Din Djarin. In fact, we didn't see Lord Fett at all!
Playing out like a prologue to The Mandalorian Season 3, this episode follows Djarin as he collects a bounty and returns to The Armorer to have his wounds tended to. When Paz Vizsla spots the Darksaber, he challenges Djarin to single combat in an attempt to reclaim the blade of his ancestors. Djarin prevails, but when The Armorer asks if he has ever removed his helmet, he decides not to lie and is banished.
Din is told he must travel to the mines beneath Mandalore to beg forgiveness, but that's going to have to wait.
Mando then takes a commercial flight to Tatooine where he believes Peli Motto has a new Razorcrest waiting. Unfortunately, the ship turns out to be a Naboo N-1 starfighter - and it's seen better days. Djarin agrees to let Motto complete her repairs (it helps to know a few Jawas... and have dated one!), and is very impressed when he takes his new craft for a test-flight, though his speeding attracts the attention of two X-Wing pilots (a welcome cameo from Paul Sun-Hyung Lee).
Back in Mos Eisley, Fennec Shand is waiting to ask Djarin for his help in defeating the Pykes. He tells her the job is on the house (he owes Fett a favor), but first he needs to pay a visit to "a little friend." So, it sounds like next Wednesday's episode will feature Grogu, and possibly Luke Skywalker!
